White Scroll has bug?

Admin Edit: The following post is a misunderstanding, and there is no bug relating to White Scrolls.

Hello MapleRoyallers,

I am here to 'help' GM to warn every single players in this game that yes, White Scroll has bug .

Before continue elaborating more information by GM, let me brief about an incident happened :
Waterlemon/Chocoiat had been scrolling this Dragon Revolver over a year and more. He has been collecting Scroll Gun for Attack 10% for so long.
All the while he is scrolling this gun, he scrolls with a White Scroll to remain to upgraded slot if it fails. He was inactive for quite a while.
Yesterday, he decided to scroll for the third time on his DR for once. He scrolled by hand, not Legendary Spirit.
So this time he scrolled and the scrolling failed and it came out two lines of messages while the upgrade slot has decreased unexpectedly.

After that, Waterlemon screenshot and put up thread on Character Issues category, here is the link :

Matt answered him on this thread (and shoutbox) that he judged over that Waterlemon may scroll twice by estimating his guild conversation between my mule (SnowbaIl) and my guildmate (Raephyr) which was 17 seconds. We find it ridiculous to end a case like this so we talked to him on shoutbox. Here are the screenshots :



Waterlemon knew no matter what he says here, definitely it will be the same from Matt.
So he gave up talking for a while. It was very late night for both of us so we went off and rest.
In the afternoon, thank goodness Ray appeared from no where, we were able to talk to him.
Here is our conversation, I cropped the highlights only to save everyone's time reading :



He told us, "We know that white Scroll has a little bug." And he mentioned that all pros film to protect themselves when scrolling.

As players, Muggy, Raiquer and I were suggesting to make an awareness to most of the players who don't know about this at all.
But it seems like GM expected us to check history before scrolling. Wow?
We also suggested GM, since GM able to check chat log's time frame, will the admin able to check time frame between the two lines of messages after scrolling. Ray did mention that it is expensive to do it. We know that it is possible, please and thank you.

Lastly, let me conclude this whole thing and warn most of you :
1. Film when you are scrolling anything that you are afraid when the system may go wrong.
2. Film with fraps, bandicam, orbs or whatever software you are using on laptop/computer.
3. White Scroll has bug. It rarely happens but still be careful while using it.
4. If you have friends/buddies/guildmates etc in MapleRoyals who don't know these, please help and warn them.

At wich use slot did he have hes white scroll when scrolling?

 

As far as i know, this is the first case i have heard happened. We have many people scrolling with white scroll in the server everyday and this has never came up. Usually, it is just human error.
Since the character issue thread has not been replied by matt yet, i suggest you and your friend to wait for his answer.
I understand that you have feelings and he is your friend, but have you ever ruled out the possibility that waterlemon made a mistake and proceeded to scroll again to generate two messages to make it seem like there's a bug? That seems like a more plausible explanation to me at this point.
So please calm down and avoid spreading false rumors among the community and let admins investigate this thoroughly.

Also, to anyone reading this thread, as of this moment, there is NO bug relating to white scrolls. So dont be scared to scroll your items

 

I really doubt all this. What you're failing to realize is that in order to receive two messages from the server, in this case "The Scroll lights up, but the item winds up as if nothing happened" and "The item upgrade failed, but since the White Scroll was used, the number of item upgrade slots remained in tact." you have to send two packets to the server as Matt said. These packets don't get send by themselves but by your own actions.

So only way you could receive two server messages is by using the scroll twice. I am certain that in this case two scrolls were used by accident. Either by pressing esc or cancel and using another scroll in panic.

Human error by judging over 17 seconds? Yes we are still waiting Matt.
Since Ray mentioned that it is true that it MAY (and rarely) happen the similar thing, why can't we post this up to aware the rest?
It is not like a bad thing to let other people know this right?

 

Hello Piffy, a very big thank you for your suggestion.
One will never know is there a bug or not and filming it is definately an positive and extra safety measurement to beaware of such bugs.
But on bug cases relating to White Scroll, I've have alittle discussion among my friends and from my personal experience, there isn't any bugs that
might have occur to us, period.

In Many player's Viewing, including myself, will probably believe its a mistake on Waterlemon's side,

example : mistaking theres 2White Scrolls in the inventory, a completely human mistake.

Its Possible to rebuild a gun at this point or maybe try his luck with CSS (Clean Slate Scroll)
Our dear @Buccaneer passed it on his Shoes before, therefore chances are totally possible

Yes, that is why I created this post. I don't see why we cannot post it up to warn anybody else.
We do not have intentions to ask for helps here for Waterlemon's case cause we know it is useless even though he really never scroll twice.

Thank you for your suggestion, it is helpful to us. However, we already had decided how to deal with the gun if GM refuses to check back.

 

1. You have taken Ray's statement out of context. May i stress again that there is no bug relating to this matter, period. (Ray did indeed clarify more later on so you may post those chats in its entirety to put his words into context to help us better understand what he said) **I think what he meant to say was, EVEN IF there is a bug, without evidence, you are unable to get a refund in most cases.

2. You are warning people about something that is simply not true, based only in your trust in your friend and his actions, disregarding the results of any investigation/ clarification from staff.

You have taken this way out of context, basing them on part of an incomplete explanation offered before a clarification is done, and I hope that you can view this from another player's perspective, not as waterlemons friend to better review your post.

 

Somehow Only he will know the real truth, but definately he deserves the benefit of doubt.

1. I thought it was the same case with Kivin (but after I read through it I realized it wasn't a bug, probably was just another player mistake
2. I did explain to all of you on my character Beryl, you should't just take a little part of the conversation and tell people that's what I said.

 

I don't know if there is bug, but I know there is a software for you to film things on screen.

 

It will be great if you can let us know. We can have more options to use while doing filming any time we want in game.
