Trying to figure out why this is.

Generally a shoe is equivalent to a cape with 3 more Atk:
    5/5 Clean BFC = 620m
    2/5 Clean FS = 650m

    15atk BFC = 11.5b
    12atk FS = 10.5b

    ?

You can not expect people to be economic men/homo economicus. The only things you could do is not selling when the price is too low and not buying when the price is too high.
But sometimes people may pay more than they should've. I did that too. I was craving for a 20 att cape and I probably paid 1~3b more than it should be.
I personally would not cs 5/5 or 2/5..

So does that mean sometimes its other way around where the shoes are worth more than the equivalent cape?

Seeing 20 atk cape for like 47b compared to 17 fs at 43b. Would be interesting if this can be inverse

it's way harder to raise a clean fs to a good amount of att, cause there is only one facestompers variation - 2/5.

compared to bfc, you can get from 3/5 bfc to 10/5 bfc, meaning it's "easier" to get high att on, also easier to get as you can get blackfist cloaks from CWK which is a mid-game kind-of-easy PQ, unlike crafting facestompers as u can't get them anyhwere.

i guess it's quantity and demand in the end of the day.
20att fs (as an example) would means that 5 chaos scrolls had to give a total of 18 att = which is +3 to +5 in each chaos scroll attempt (assuming the shoe is fully maxed), and that's not easy to do.

Not sure if you misread it, but thats where im confused. Generally speaking the demand for cape and shoes should be equal with the supply being the variable factor. If cape is easier to get why are scrolled capes more expensive than the equivalent shoe?

    i'm unsure what you mean.

20att shoes have higher value than 20att cape.

    it's not equvalent.

    Actually, at low att cape ~= shoes + 3 att;
at high att, cape ~= shoes + 2 att (starting from around 23 cape and 21 shoes).

If you read the OP, I’m comparing 5/5 BfC to 2/5 Fs as well as 15BFC to 12 FS

I did read it, and by the looks of it you were confused why the same value is not the same att and what makes X more special than Y, am i wrong?

If so, you should be more clear about your thread point, or i should be less stupid, its one or the other.

Well I could've been more clear.
    In the OP I state
So basically when I ask why BFC's are more expensive than FS what I am really asking is: why are BFC's with 3 more atk worth more than a FS. In other words why is a 15 Atk BFC worth more than a 12 Atk FS and a 20 atk BFC more than a 17atk FS

Was this the case before VL boots were introduced? I would guess VL boots are the reason capes are worth more than shoes since capes only go up to 10/5 clean while boots go up to 8/6 clean which has the higher potential considering the - 3atk modifier

This is a price list I made for myself a few years ago.
Each of them have their own market value and audience & varies by many factors.
They’re not directly equivalent, even if the ATK is the same.

If someone could create a thread and document the actual trade price of CGS, it would be great.
Actual trade price of trade details like ws/cs price, accepted items (and their market value), etc.

Also a list of capes' price I used for chaosing value calculation in 2019 if anyone's interested...
    Note that they were valued in ws/cs. (i.g. 20 att cape ~ 89 ws/cs)

    Code:
    Att ws/cs
    20 89
    19 68
    18 48
    17 37
    16 29
    15 24
    14 19
    13 14

yea that's already a given. The question is why?

Your chart is interesting though. If its accurate that means shoes have come much closer to cape prices since however many years ago your chart is from

What do you mean why. They are different part of the equip, their values don’t affect each other.

Of course they effect each other. For example, someone isnt going to spend 15b upgrading 1 wpn atk from a 20 to 21 cape if they have a 12 atk shoe which they can upgrade to a 15 for less. They are directly related and effect each other
