Hello, I was gonna play after some time away, and realised that since windows 11 introduced the app "smart app control", which cannot be given override /whitelist of certain programs manually, there is currently no way to play maple royals without disabling the app permanently (you can reset windows to re-install it but that's lame). According to the developers of the app, there is likely a lack of secure signature in the app, see link below: Smart App Control Frequently Asked Questions - Microsoft Support Since the game launcher since forever have been flagged as unsecure by multiple anti-virus programs and windows defender, I'm guessing the issue is somewhat the same. Is there any news regarding how to play while having smart app activated in the near future, from Royals side? There is as far as guides go, no way to let the client bypass the app in it's current state. Best regards NozzloHeal
I don't think it's possible to get approved by Microsoft - "it blocks untrusted apps based on digital signatures or Microsoft's intelligence" This user contacted Microsoft about an app and was recommended to turn it off as well "Contacted Microsoft and they told me to turn off Smart App Control." Reddit Link If Microsoft won't even set an exception for an official app, they won't do so for a mere private server (Royals)
Thanks for a quick reply, Yeah I've figured as much as well, I will test creating a secondary user on my PC and see if i can disable SAC on one user and keep it on my main. If not I'll just disable it since it's kind of dumb to not have a manual override built in. Or the option to enable it. //Nozzlo
They will add it soon, I guess "We’re updating Smart App Control (SAC) so you will now be able to switch SAC off or on without any clean install requirement. To make changes, go to Windows Security > App & Browser Control > Smart App Control settings." https://blogs.windows.com/windows-i...r-preview-build-26220-7070-dev-beta-channels/
Yes that's how you disable it currently. The "dilemma" is that as of now, once you press "off", there is no way to put it back on without a windows reset (there is a way using cmd and faking the logs somehow, but that's not ideal every time you wanna play lol) Hopefully they will add the option to at least temporary disable it soon Once again thanks for your time and effort on this.
