So prior to the new source, I was primarily running Royals on a windows xp vmware with a windows 10 host machine. This was the best way for me to run it because it was the only way for me to not dc during bosses and whatnot, most likely due to me having a nvidia card. However, when I run it now, it takes like 1-2 minutes just to boot the client up when it used to only take a second or two. It also doesn't seem to close properly and will crash everytime I try to close it. It works pretty much just fine on Windows 7 vmware, but I'm not sure whether it still has problems with dcing from bosses. I tried Zaking once yesterday and I dc'd pretty early on in the fight, but I'm not sure whether this is a problem with windows 7 or problems with Royals itself. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

The Zakum disconnect is likely a server related issue as we are aware of some disconnecting problems right now.

I've also heard others say that their client takes over a minute to load on Windows 8 and 10 but it seems to only affect a selection of people. I am on Windows 10 and have no issues opening the client within about 5 seconds. We do plan to release a new client in the near future alongside the next patch which has some changes to the way the client starts up, but we cannot guarantee that it will solve the issue.

    Also try this:

Step 1: Locate your mapleroyals.exe file, right click it and press "Properties"
Step 2: Select the "Compatibility" Tab
Step 3: You will notice compatibility for mapleroyals.exe is set to "windows 98/me" along with the fact that the compatibility mode is enabled
Step 4: You will notice that you cannot change those properties as they are greyed out. Select "Change settings for all users"
Step 5: Untick "run this program in compatibility mode for :", once you've done that go ahead and tix the box "Run as Administrator"
Step 6: Apply all settings and run mapleroyals.

Unfortunately, I don't think those instructions apply to windows XP, since there is no option for running as administrator or changing settings for all users

When you do anything to change the compatibility for Royals, it will always go back to Windows 98/Windows ME
