'You have been disconnected...'

When I am playing at home I can connect perfectly fine, and have no problems at all, however lately I have been wanting to play on my college campus, but I keep getting the error:
"You have been disconnected from the log-in server. Please try again later"
I have tried over and over to register the IP, but no matter how many times I try it still will not work. Is there anything I can do to get this to work. My brother says that whenever he he is on campus he can connect just fine.
Help pls.

 

Check to make sure you have both VMWare and Microsoft Loopback adapters disabled.

 

What are these, and how do I do this on windows 8? Sorry I'm not well versed in tech knowledge.

You had a character named dyrus which was banned before the wipe for God Mode. The bans carry over post wipe.
