Zakum We, the staff, get many questions about zakum on a daily basis. Hence we've decided to provide you with a thread solely dedicated to this highly popular tree on steroids. The general outline of attempting this boss is: Zak at your own risk! Most of us know the problem that attempting Zakum brings to the table at MapleRoyals; disconnects. This has significantly increased since the addition of .wz edits, to provide us all with 'new' content. We are working hard to fix this. Zakum Rules - You are allowed to attempt zakum twice per 24 hours. Bypassing this will result in a ban. - A disconnect counts as an attempt, a GM warp does not. Zakum Warps We do not warp people into the zakum altar, with the exception of: - Adobis not warping people in while it should have. - Disconnects by players already in the altar, before zak was spawned. (if you decide to go ahead anyway, don't expect any warps as a result) - Serverwide crashes. This last rule has been put through very recently. The party having suffered from this issue will have to provide us with evidence. A screenshot of the run will usually suffice. When a green light is given, any GM that's around at a convenient time will be allowed to replicate the state your crashed run was in. Also, when receiving a warp from a GM, please make sure you are in the correct channel of your zrun members. What can I do to have better chances of getting through a zak run? - Use windows. Our mac client is much buggier than the windows client. The chances of getting through a zakum spawn on a mac are low, let alone a full run. - Change your graphics from time to time. Everytime you change your graphics settings, no matter to which quality, the client will automatically refresh itself. Henceforth you will (theoretically) have less chances of getting DCs. A quick way to do this is by using Esc > Down > Down > Enter > Left (or Right) > Enter. Practise it a couple times and it should never bother you during a run in the future. (thread will be updated)
I know this may be a lot to ask, but is there any way you can make modifications/improvements to the mac client in order to decrease the likelihood of DCing? I can't install parallels or bootcamp on my computer, and not being able to get TT 10 has been pretty stressful. That, or possibly making TT10 tradeable?
It's worth mentioning that it's best to change picture quality shortly before Zakum spawns, and before the last arm dies, as well as 1st and 2nd body. When there's a lot of mob control (arch mages and bishops), changing it one more time here and there (especially when things look weird or start flashing) is a good idea.
Both are very unlikely to happen. We like to keep drops as exclusive as they used to be in v62. Making TT10 tradable would raise all sorts of concerns. As much as we'd like to improve the mac client, we simply don't have the manpower to get it done. I'm not saying it will never happen, but from the situation we are in right now, it's highly unlikely it will improve in the near future.
