Hello, I’m Fius, a relatively new player for Royal MS, but a veteran archer in Global version since the beginning of 2006. Archer has always been the class for me, so I thought I’d share some of my knowledge to you younglings looking to start a Hunter of your own. Some of the information that I’ll be using will be based on pre Big Bang GMS, so if you see some mistakes that don’t apply in Royal MS, do let me know. Still work in progress.

Pros and cons of an Archer

    Pros:

    - Long attacking range
    - Fun skills in 3rd job and onwards
    - Relatively good damage throughout all the job advancements (except for 1st job)
    - Very good at parties and bossing in 4th job
    - Able to solo most bosses thanks to Puppet and long attacking range
    - A lot of skills to use in 3rd job, making training interesting
    - Pretty balanced class overall

    Cons:

    - Low HP unwashed
    - Can’t use most skills in short range (bow whacking)
    - Weak and slow in 1st job and in the beginning of 2nd job
    - 3rd job skill Inferno is less useful than Sniper’s equivalent skill Blizzard, and likewise 4th job summon Phoenix is less useful than Marksman’s counterpart Frostprey
    - No party skills until 4th job
    - No mobility skills unlike other ranged DPS classes (Flash Jump for Night Lords, Recoil Shot for Corsairs)

    AP builds

As a Hunter, you will need Dexterity as your main stat and some Strength to equip your weapons. For the most parts, Archer armors do not require STR to wear, so you can abuse this fact when scrolling your gear (explained later).

The required STR to wear your weapons is always your level + 5, so a level 70 bow would require 75 STR to wear, and a level 100 bow requires 105 STR and so on. Exception to this are the Maple Weapons and some weapons that come from Gachapon.

    STR-less into low STR

I started playing my archer as my very first character in Maple Royals, so I would argue that anyone can do this build with no funding at all as long as you have some sort of general idea of how Maplestory works. The idea of the build is to pump all your points into DEX and wear Maple bows until you hit a high level (90-ish) and start pumping some points into STR so you can wear regular class weapons.

    An example for the build:
At this point you have to start thinking, what is the first real bow you want to use and plan your base STR accordingly. Good options are the level 80 bow Arund, which requires 85 STR, and the level 90 bow Metus, which requires 95 STR. My personal recommendation would be to stick with a well scrolled Kandiva until you can wear Metus, because standard class bows are one step slower than Maple bows. So even if your damage range on your stat screen with a slower bow might be higher, it doesn’t mean that you’d be actually doing more damage per minute with your slower bow.

You can get some freebie STR points without much of investment into STR gear from Zakum helmet (+15) and Deputy star (+5). Added to this, many of the Archer class armors give big chunk of STR and DEX, and since you don’t need any STR to wear those items, you can easily use your armor to keep your base STR low. These values depend on the kind of gear you have in your possession, but a good rough number where you should keep your STR would be around 50-60 base STR or so. You can go higher, or you can go lower. AP resets are cheap in Royal MS, so you aren’t too committed either way you go. Good end game weapons to keep your eyes on are Nisrock and Dragon shiner bow, which require 105 and 110 STR respectively.

    Pros:

    - Maple weapons have faster attacking speed than regular bows, plus they provide HP and some speed
    - Many bows drop from common training locations, meaning you can hunt them yourself or buy cheaply
    - Higher DPS than regular STR archer build

    Cons:

    - Getting to level 35 so you can wear your first real bow can be annoying
    - You need to do some theorycrafting on when and how much STR you should add when you start reaching 3rd job

    Low STR-build

In this build you want to keep your STR high enough, so you can wear all the bows at their corresponding levels. Again, you need your level + 5 STR to wear regular bows, so keep that in mind.

An example of what the build could look like:
The build I provided as example leaves you just a bit below the required STR that you’d need to wear your Bows, but to fix this I recommend you find Archer overalls, shoes and hats to get those last few remaining points in STR without actually spending the AP. At level 50 you can wear a Zakum helmet and a Deputy star, which will help greatly with keeping your base STR lower.

    Pros:

    - Class bows look nice
    - With Royal MS’ Godly item system, you can have some nice damage spikes if you find a good bow
    - Can still wear STR-less bows for that extra attack speed (although the points invested into str will sort of be wasted)
    - Items that give stats to both STR and DEX (Zakum helmet, Deputy star etc.), benefit you double with correct planning compared to STR-less build

    Cons:

    - Ever so slightly lower DPS than STR-less build until 3rd job levels when both builds come together

    1st job skill build

    Level 10 1 Arrow Blow
    Level 11 3 Blessing of Amazon (3)
    Level 12 3 Eye of Amazon (3)
    Level 13 3 Eye of Amazon (6)
Level 14 2 Eye of Amazon (8 MAX), 1 Critical Shot
    Level 15-20 3 Critical shot (19)
Level 21 1 Critical shot (20 MAX), 2 Double shot
Level 22-27 3 Double shot (MAX)
    Level 28-30 Focus (9)

    End results:

    [IMG] MAX Critical shot (20)
[IMG] MAX Eye of Amazon (8)
    [IMG] MAX Double shot (20)
    [IMG] 3 Blessing of Amazon
    [IMG] 9 Focus
    [IMG] 1 Arrow Blow

All the first job skills are really straight forward, so I don’t think it’s necessary to explain them in greater detail. At level 10, you get one point into Arrow blow to help you train quicker. After that, we put three points into Blessing of Amazon, so we unlock Eye of Amazon. Then you max Eye for extra attacking range, and after that work on Crit and Double shot, The last points should go into Focus, because Double shot is better than Arrow Blow in terms of DPS, and we don’t really need that extra accuracy from Blessing of Amazon. You can swap the places of Critical and Double shot if you want, but this is a little bit more costly in terms of Mana potions. The end results will be the same.

    2nd job skill build

    Level 30 1 Arrow Bomb
    Level 31-36 3 Mastery (18)
    Level 37 1 Mastery (19), 2 Bow Booster
    Level 38 3 Bow Booster (5)
    Level 39 1 Bow Booster (6), 2 Arrow Bomb (3)
Level 40-48 3 Arrow Bomb (MAX)
    Level 49-54 3 Power Knock Back (18)
Level 55 2 Power Knock Back (MAX), 1 Bow Booster (7)
    Level 56-59 3 Bow Booster (19)
Level 60 1 Bow Booster (MAX), 2 Soul Arrow
Level 61-66 3 Soul Arrow (MAX)
Level 67 1 Bow Mastery (MAX), 2 Focus (1st job skill)
    Level 68-70 3 Focus

    Or

    Level 30 1 Arrow Bomb
    Level 31-39 3 Arrow Bomb (28)
Level 40 2 Arrow Bomb (MAX), 2 Bow Mastery
    Level 41 3 Bow Mastery (5)
    Level 42-43 3 Bow Booster (6)
Level 44-48 3 Bow Mastery (MAX)
Level 49-70 Same build as above

    End results:

    [IMG] MAX Bow Mastery (20/20)
    [IMG] MAX Bow Booster (20/20)
    [IMG] MAX Arrow Bomb (30/30)
[IMG] MAX Power Knock Back (20/20)
    [IMG] MAX Soul arrow (30/30)
[IMG] [IMG] 11 points into Focus or Blessing of Amazon
[IMG] Zero points in Final Attack

At level 30 we take one point into Arrow Bomb so we can finally kill more than one monster at a time. After that we get Bow mastery to almost maxed level to get some balance into our damage. We don’t max it right away, since last point only gives 1 accuracy, but remember to max it before the end of 2nd job. After mastery, we get few points into Booster. Booster gives the same speed at every level, but each level gives it 10 extra seconds of duration. Level 6 Booster isn’t set in stone, but I personally find level 6 being fine, casting it every 60 seconds is not that big of a deal and one minute is a nice round number. After booster we dish points into Arrow Bomb for more damage. After Bomb, we max Power Knock back, which lets you train at Forest of Golem and Coolie Zombies in your 50s. No more bow whacking! After that, we max mastery (must have it maxed for 4th job!! Can’t stress this enough), finish up booster, max Soul Arrow and put the rest of the points into Focus or Blessing of Amazon.

In the alternative build we max Arrow Bomb first for some good mobbing capabilities even at early level 30's. You can throw in 5 points of Mastery and few points of Bow Booster if you wish too. Both builds end up with the same results.

I leave Soul Arrow for such late level, because all low level monsters in RoyalMS drop crazy amounts of Arrows, so you’ll never need to buy any even if you don’t have Soul Arrow. It is good to have for later levels though. Also, since we are blessed with maxed out inventory slots, you can head to Showa and buy some Red Arrows that give you a nice +4 w.atk boost. These arrows stack up to 1000 per slot, but remember, you don’t get the damage benefits if you have Soul Arrow on. This can be handy if you are just a little short of 1hko or 2hkoing certain monsters when training. And finally, we don’t get Final Attack at all because it disrupts Arrow Bomb, and doesn’t work with any of our 3rd or 4th job skills.

    3rd job skill build

    [IMG] Arrow Rain first- build

    Level 70 1 Strafe
    Level 71 3 Mortal Blow
    Level 72 2 Mortal Blow (5), 1 Arrow Rain
    Level 73-80 3 Arrow Rain (28)
    Level 81 2 Arrow Rain (MAX), 1 Strafe (2)
    Level 82-90 3 Strafe (29)
    Level 91 1 Strafe (MAX), 2 Puppet
    Level 92 3 Puppet (5)
    Level 93 1 Puppet (6), 2 Silver Hawk
    Level 94-102 3 Silver Hawk (29)
    Level 103-106 3 Puppet (18)
    Level 107 2 Puppet (MAX), 1 Inferno
Level 108-120 Points divided between Mortal Blow, Thrust and Inferno (explained below).

At level 70 we stick one point into Strafe and say good bye to Double shot. Level 1 Strafe gives us more damage than maxed Double shot. After that, we start working our way into Arrow Rain. Royal MS is Mage MS, so every training map is optimized for mobbing based training. Even Squids, which used to be the best training spot for Strafe first builds back in GMS, are better with Arrow Rain build in Royal (training spots explained below). After maxing Rain, we’ll go back to Strafe so we can kill Goby houses and Squids better. At around this point, you can stick few points into Puppet whenever you want if you feel like it would help your training. At Gobies it can help as a good tool to de-aggro Bonefish that you accidentally hit. Simply cast Puppet twice (first cast aggros them to Puppet, second one de-aggros the fish), and they will be going after you no more.

After maxing strafe, you get a few points into Puppet to get the timer up. I find 20 seconds at level 6 to be enough for 3rd job training (Gobies, Squids, Spirit Vikings, Death Teddies), but you can go for more or less if you feel like it. Remember that the timer only increases every 3 levels.

After Puppet’s timer is long enough, you pump points into Silver Hawk so you will eventually have the option to train at Jr.Newties. We only go for 29 points in total, because the last point only gives 2 extra seconds and 1 extra attack, but doesn’t increase the % of stunning at all. One could technically leave Hawk even at level 15 and pump more points into MB, Thrust or Inferno, but I would advise against it since our 4th job bird does not stun like Hawk does.

Finally, you have to choose between Thrust, Inferno and Mortal Blow. None of them are necessary for your future Bowmaster career, but all bring something different to the table. Below are my thoughts on them.

    [IMG] Strafe first-build

    Level 70 1 Strafe
    Level 71-79 3 Strafe (29)
    Level 80 1 Strafe (MAX), 2 Puppet
    Level 81 3 Puppet (5)
    Level 82-88 3 Silver Hawk (21)
    Level 89 3 Puppet (8)
    Level 90 1 Puppet (9), 2 Mortal Blow

At this point you can choose wether you want to get more points into Puppet mainly for hunting Headless Horseman, or if you want to start pumping points into Arrow Rain to prepare you for Himes. For the sake of the written guide, I went with Arrow Rain route, since level 9 Puppet already provides 30 seconds of uptime.

    Level 91 3 Mortal Blow (5)
Level 92-101 3 Arrow Rain (MAX)
    Level 102-104 3 Puppet (18)
    Level 105 2 Puppet (MAX), 1 Silver Hawk (22)
    Level 106-107 3 Silver Hawk (28)
    Level 108 1 Silver Hawk (29, 2 into anything
Level 109-120 read Inferno vs Mortal Blow vs Thrust below and take your pick

This build focuses on maxing Strafe first and getting a decent level Silver Hawk at early on. This combo let's you snipe Jr.Newties at Destroyed Dragon Nest, which some say might be a lazy way to train, but we'll call it relaxed. Also you'll be able to solo Headless Horseman already in your mid 80s. Before you are strong enough to kill Jr.Newties, you can train at Voodoos, Death Teddies, Windraiders or Squids, all are good spots for Strafe build and let you practice using Puppet.

You start out with just maxing Strafe first, and afterwards getting 5 points into Puppet to unlock Silver Hawk. At level 21 Hawk has a nice 95% chance of stunning an enemy, and the remaining 9 points would only bring it up by another 4%, so those points can be put to better use elsewhere. Still you should eventually get Hawk to 29 before finishing up your 3rd job build, it's that useful.

After Hawk, we'll get some more points into Puppet to let us hunt Headless Horseman better. Strafe isn't quite fast enough to knock him back, but if you place Puppet in strategic places, you can maul Horseman down for a good while without being disrupted. Here's an example on how to use Puppet at the Crossroads in Masteria.

After being done with your Strafe, and having a good level of Silver Hawk, you can choose between maxing Arrow Rain or finishing up Puppet for a longer timer. It really depends on where you want to train. Puppet brings more safety to your Horseman Hunting, while Arrow Rain prepares you for Himes. Finally, you have to choose between Thrust, Inferno and Mortal Blow. None of them are necessary for your future Bowmaster career, but all bring something different to the table. Below are my thoughts on them.

    [IMG] Puppet

Ever wanted to start a fight with someone and then blame it on your dumb friend who’ll gladly take the blame and beating for you while you throw in some punches from distance? Well that’s exactly what Puppet does for you. Puppet is an interesting skill that no other class in vanilla Maplestory can match, and mastering it will be a key when hunting at many areas.

Watch this clip and whenever they say the word “rifle”, replace it with “Puppet”.

Done? OK good. Basically how Puppet works is, it draws the aggro of monsters to him instead of you. If monsters are in non-aggrod state, it will do nothing, but if the monsters are chasing you and you cast Puppet, they’ll stop chasing you and will go after the Puppet instead. This means that if you place Puppet in places where the monsters can’t reach, they’ll be trying to get to the Puppet in vain while you just keep shooting them. Puppet’s HP and defense are a bit wonky, and he can take quite bit of beating despite his relatively low HP.

Thrust vs Inferno vs Mortal blow

I feel like this deserved its own segment. The core build for Ranger is pretty much set in stone, but with these three skills people’s opinions vary.

    3rd job end results:

    [IMG] Strafe MAX
    [IMG] Arrow Rain MAX
    [IMG] Puppet MAX
    [IMG] Silver Hawk (29)

    And based on your own preference;
    [IMG] Mortal Blow (5/20)
    [IMG] Inferno (1/30)
    [IMG] Thrust (0/5/X)

4th job skill overview and skill builds

Congratulations on reaching 4th job! You did the thing! There are a plenty of different ways you can build your Bowmaster depending on what you want to achieve with your character. The core for all Bowmaster builds is pretty much the same, getting 1 Hurricane and 9 points into Sharp Eyes as soon as possible and afterwards concentrating on maxing Hurricane, Sharp Eyes and Bow expert in order of your choice. By now you should have a pretty good understanding on how you like to play your archer, so plan your build accordingly.

Upon advancing to 4th job, you'll start out with Sharp Eyes, Maple Warrior, Bow Expert and Hamstring skills. The rest you need to obtain via skill quests. Plenty has written a wonderful guide on how to get these skills and their mastery books, so check it out if you need guidance.

[IMG] Hero’s will: “Cures you from being seduced. The cooldown decreases as the skill level increases.”

    Level 1: Cooldown 600 sec
    Level 5: Cooldown 360 sec

The holy trinity for Bowmasters’ skill builds is Sharp Eyes, Hurricane and Bow Expert. These three you want to have maxed as soon as possible, but the order can be somewhat determined by you and by which mastery books you have at hand. Still, I have listed out two cookie cutter builds for you to try out.

    Sharp Eyes first-build

    Level 120 2 Sharp Eyes(2), 1 Hurricane
    Level 121-122 3 Sharp Eyes (8)
    Level 123 2 Sharp Eyes (10), 1 Bow Expert

After getting at least 9 points into Sharp Eyes, you can also drop a point into Phoenix or Dragon Pulse if you want, mainly for fun.

    Level 124-129 3 Sharp Eyes (28)
    Level 130 2 Sharp Eyes (MAX), 1 Hurricane (2)
    Level 131-133 3 Hurricane (11)
    Level 134-137 3 Hurricane (20)
    Level 138 1 Hurricane (21) 2 (??)

After this point you can either pump points into Hurricane or start working on Bow expert. 21 is a good stopping point for Hurricane, since it gets a big 11% damage boost per one skill point compared to the regular 1% per point. After maxing out both Hurricane and Bow Expert, you should invest points into Maple Warrior. The rest of the skills are up to your personal preference in order, but most likely in the order; Maple Warrior > Concentrate > Phoenix > Dragon Pulse > Hamstring.

    Explanation for the build:
This build is meant for those, who train in parties often, especially with Night Lords. Your own individual damage suffers slightly because of leaving Hurricane at level 1 for such a long time, but you’ll be helpful for your party while still dishing out good damage yourself. At level 120 we take 1 point into Hurricane, because even at level 1 it out damages max Strafe. 2 go into Sharp Eyes for obvious reasons. You can leave Sharp Eyes at level 29 if you wish, since the last skill point only adds in 1% damage, and doesn’t increase the critical hit chance.

    Hurricane first-build

    Level 120 1 Hurricane, 2 Sharp Eyes
    Level 121-122 3 Sharp Eyes (8)
    Level 123 1 Sharp Eyes (9), 1 Bow Expert

At this point you can put one point into Phoenix or Dragon Pulse if you want.

    Level 124-130 3 Hurricane (21)
    level 131 3 Sharp Eyes (12)
Level 132-138 3 Sharp Eyes (MAX) or 2 Sharp eyes (29), 1 anything
Level 139 Hurricane / Bow Expert

Stopping Hurricane at 21, because at 21 we get a big boost in damage for a single skill point, and the rest skill points until skill level 30 would only add another 1% per level. The next points would be pumped into Sharp Eyes to benefit our party members during Boss runs, because you want to start doing Krexel and other major bosses in your 130s.

    Explanation for the build:

This build focuses on your own killing speed. At the beginning we get Sharp Eyes to level 9 for a decent timer and a nice 5% critical rate. After that you can invest one point into each; Bow Expert, Phoenix or Dragon Pulse. I strongly recommend Bow Expert, but the other two are completely optional. Then we start pumping Hurricane to maximize our own damage. At levels 11 and 21 Hurricane gets a big 11% boost per skill point, so if you want, you can leave it at those levels whenever you want and start working on other skills for change. It’s all up to your preference. After getting Hurricane to a nice level, you can return to Sharp Eyes for your bossing purposes, since at this point you should be training at Krexel and Zakum with other people, or if you want, you can go for Bow Expert instead. I’d strongly recommend Sharp Eyes though.

    After finishing your core build

By around level 150 you will have maxed out Sharp Eyes, Hurricane and Bow Expert in the order that suits you the best. After this you will most likely want to invest at least 9 points into Maple Warrior, and then start working on Concentrate. If you feel like you'll have no need for Concentrate, you can also go with Phoenix for that extra bit of damage. By this point you should know what you want.

Great start! I was planning on making a Bowmaster Guide, but if you would like to continue on with your guide, I'll share with you some drafts I've been construing. Something I'd like to add:
    • Going with Arrow Bomb first really sped up training for me during 3x. Consider adding in Monkey Forest II for the 30-50 training. There are two sections of spawn that Arrow Bomb does great at.
    • Add in a money making section or use @Cyndy's starter money making guide.
    • Going to Ghost Ship 2 as early as level 40 once I maxed out Arrow Bomb was fantastic training. All you need to do is snipe in the middle of the stairs and you should be able to deal the most DPS at that level making for efficient training.
    • Strafe first could be a good build if people are really lazy and prefer sniping at Jr. Newties for a while. Very relaxing build while also getting very decent XP.

Thanks for making a guide for BMs :)! here is some feedback about the 3rd job skill build

From personal experience I recommend maxing mortal blow AND inferno (leaving Strafe not maxed) here are my reasons:

-You will NEVER use Strafe again after you get Hurricane.
-From 70-120 you will most likely train at WS and Himes (where you will be using mobbing skills 99.9% of the time).
    -Dragon's Breath+Inferno is a really nice combo.
-Inferno is getting buffed in the new source (I think... lol).
-You can use mortal blow to pin bigfoot into a corner without having to worry about juggling aggro with your puppet, so a higher success rate is always good for this.

I actually went Bomb first on my Hunter too, but I wasn't sure how it would compare to "classical" build and didn't want to mislead anybody with a bit "unorthodoxed build". Adding the option for sure now though!
I'm a little iffy wether Strafe first can compare to Arrow Rain training, but I guess it doesn't hurt in to add some options :)

You're correct. I'll add in an option for build without maxing Strafe. Other than knockbacking Pap at early levels of 4th job and playing it safe around damage reflect, I can't think of many uses for Strafe as a Bowmaster. I was thinking of resetting my Strafe into MB once the new source hits too.

Can you elaborate on how you use Mortal Blow to pin Bigfoot?

Thanks for the feedback for both of you :)

Sure! Here is a short video on how I do it:

    Step by step explanation:

This technique is based in the fact that when you have BF aggro he will not run over you, instead he will stop right in front of you and jump dealing a small amount of damage (with the lollipop I guess?).

Step 1) Hit BF so you get aggro from it
Step 2) Run into one of the corners of the map
Step 3) Wait for BF to jump attack you and when he does run to the other side of him while you are invulnerable
Step 4) Stay as close as you can so he will keep jump attacking instead of running farther from the wall
Step 5) Start attacking him with Hurricane/Mortal Blow to knock-back him into the wall
Step 6) Once you notice he turned his face into the wall he is successfully pinned into it
Step 7) Back up a bit and hit him with hurricane until he dies

*If BF gets unpinned, walk close to him and start attacking him with Hurricane/Mortal Blow to pin him again (basically start again from step 4)
*To buff yourself without losing the pin, time your buffing skills with an attack of your phoenix/silver hawk so it keeps it pinned for you (basically use one buff right when your phoenix/silver hawk is about to attack)
*Always have your phoenix/silver hawk when killing BF's so it kills the Jr. Wraiths and you can buff yourself without losing the pin (plus BF is weak to fire so phoenix damage is a nice bit of extra DPS :p)

    EDIT: Added some extra tips

Agreed that maxing strafe is pretty useless, it's only good for killing HH at 3rd job, also I find silver hawk uselss as well, and I think u only need 15 points to max phoenix on 4th job? (not sure). So yeah, I'd max thrust instead, you can easily get max speed with that skill maxed, pet eq scrolled and speed bow/pill.

This is some pretty crazy witchcraft right here. I've killed my share of BF's, but never with this kind of method. I'll give it a go tomorrow when BF's have spawned again to test it out myself. Do you mind if I use the clip you provided for the Bossing section? Full credit goes to you of course :)

Well for super indepht HP washing information I suggest you check out the HP washing thread provided at the bottom of the guide. I'll be writing (partially) the bossing section tomorrow, and will include required HP for each boss to give you some sort of idea what you should be aiming for, but when it comes to how much INT gear you should wear and whatnots, it's all been said really well in Pheelo's guide.

Sure, feel free to use it :). I was thinking about making this video to teach people about this method anyways, and I think this is the best place for it to go.

So what gives the biggest increase in damage, Hurricane or Bow Expert?
I'm probably going Hurricane after SE.

I'm in the process of making a BM with a fair amount of base INT. Since I won't be grinding at all until level 135+, is it advisable for me to keep Strafe as low as possible and use the SP to max other skills like Thrust and Silver Hawk? Is there any end-game situation where Strafe would be more preferable to Hurricane?

Hi there! I kept my strafe at lvl 1, reason being a single skill point in hurricane already out DPS a max lvl strafe. I will definitely maxed thrust for the extra +20ms and my silver hawk is at lvl 15 !

Goodluck with your bowmaster and welcome to the bowmaster community ! :)

Thread Starter haven't been on forum for a long time, if you have any queries, feel free to drop me a PM. But what do you mean by end game items? basically it's mostly base on your fundings and interest.

Red Arrows from Doran at showa. Most ppl just use soul arrow tho, I only use arrows at bosses where I can get dispelled.

Hey Fius! Great guide, would just like to let you know, there's an error here ^

73 to 80 are only 8 levels which only adds 24 SP :) basically it's moving everything up one level later. Other than that, this guide is Uh-MAZING :)

Like others have said here, I would actually advocate for a lv1 Strafe build forever. Hurricane instantly outdamages it anyway, and then you can max Thrust and Inferno. Maxing Thrust may be unnecessary depending upon the speed boosts you already get from your gear, but I always recommend people max Inferno. It is 20% stronger than Arrow Bomb (150% v. 130%), and the damage seems more stable than Bomb as well- for a class with a reputation for poor mobbing, every little bit counts. Granted, it doesn't stun, but that's what Hawk is for.

It makes third job harder to have such a crappy 1v1 move, but if you're gonna be leeching for most of it anyways, there is no reason to max Strafe. Like you said in your Thrust/Inferno/Strafe comparison debate though, it really is all up to personal playstyle and preferences.

People who are starting a archer and just leeching him from early while washing, still maxes Double shot as well or does it become useless to max that since I'm not gonna use it?
