When I drop the seed on top of the house it disappears but the giant gourd does not appear so I can't finish this quest. Can someone help me with this bug? Am I doing something wrong?

Sorry i know this thread is old but i was having the same problem with this quest. The header on this post says it’s fixed though? Is that wrong?
ive completed the quest 3 times on diff charas and never had an issue, but i believe u, not sure why it doesnt work for u
Thanks for the reply... so when you’ve done it how long does it take for the seed to transform? I have left it on top of the roof for some time but then looted it at least 10 secs after nothing’s happened in fear that it may disappear.
