How to Horntail without graphical glitches closing your client

people have not been able to use this method since last patch, as of now theres no way to solve this issue. Hopefully someone will come up with an alternative or a way to fix this issue. I think Matt and them are trying to figure out why the new client wont run inside vmware with windows xp as operating system.

Some people say that it works if you do this method but instead of win xp you use win7 as os for the vm but I can't vouch that this will work at bosses.

I think if you have needed this before to be able to boss without graphical errors you might still need it, but I'd suggest you try for yourself because I really don't know other than theres nothing stated in the patch notes about fixing graphical errors.

 

Is It possible to get through a full HT run and doing gfx like every 5 minutes and not to dc? Or is it almost 100% you'll DC?...

 

I did this twice today ( gfxing every 5minutes ) and I survived without any issuses.
also want to mention AMD / built-in graphic cards in leptops should't have this issuses. if you got nvidia most likley that you will dc , I think.
I use AMD graphic card, my leptop have Intel one, both was ok~

 

Should I use my very old laptop then for HT? Would that be a safer bet even though it's slow...

 

Or better yet if I was to purchase a brand new laptop from bestbuy but just a decent one for like 700$-800$ would that give me a better chance at HT?

 

Just a medeocure laptop though and all I'd download on it is mapleroyals

 

And if you have any recommendations for things I should have on that laptop or what type of laptop could you please tell me! I really appreciate all your help!

 

Personaly I'm using one really old desktop pc that I just reformatted and installed win xp just to be able to ht and it works really good for this purpose.

 

Okay I fixed my issue, the problem was my Virtualization was turned off, so to fix it I needed to go into my BIOS and turn it on. If any1 has trouble, try this.

I already have MapleRoyal installed on it and set my screen resolution to 800 by 600. I even set the compatibility mode to Windows 98/ Windows Me . But I still can only hear sounds and screen is white.

 

Im trying to download Royals onto my VMware because I dc within 2min of joining Zak, but this error pops up when I try to go onto the internet and download Royals. Please help

Alright so ive been using Vmware for a while and its great, aside from one issue. The size of the royals client screen. I have this huge black area that just doesnt get used when i'm playing, and makes the actual client like a 6x7 screen. I've tried changing resolutions and going into the client settings. Nothing has worked so far. Any ideas???

Hello, I am new to using Vmware, I was wondering if I still have to do gfx in bosses such as zak/krexel/ht if I am running royals on vmware

 

Dont maximize your VM window and it'll shrink to the size of your royals game.

I've had two issues recently inside of VMware that I'm not sure what happened.
Once was an issue when I crossed mid body at the same time as someone gene'd, instantly black screened and then crashed with this:

I was using the June client optional update at the time.
(Interesting tidbit of info possibly related: Today, using the june client without vmware, my bishop d/ced on one client at Krexel while the other one (my NL) had to gfx every couple minutes. I must've GFX'd at least 5 times just on the 2nd eye alone.
Before my 2nd run I went and replaced the new client with the May release and didn't d/c or need to gfx at all. Curious)
The second was earlier today, sticky keys decided to be a jerk and turn itself back on since my TT is on Shift. This was only an issue because it tabbed me out of the game and then when I tried to get back into the game it was white screen. I was able to jump around, my party saw me jumping, I was still very much alive and connected. But I was unable to see anything but just white. I tried alt tab, alt enter (fullscreen/windowed toggle), nothing brought it back. And also when I clicked into it I could hear a combination of a bunch of sounds - yet I had sounds disabled.

 

I'm wondering if running the VM is still a valid option for dc problems. Recently I seem to be DC'ing out of Zakum or other bosses to the log in screen or complete crash with no error message. I really don't know why and it seems random.

Maybe you can help me out here as i don't seem to have issue any of the issue above except the below.

the SS shows the issue that has been affecting all my boss run including Krexel.
It will just Disconnect me randomly to the login page after a huge Spike followed by lag whereby everyone else seems to stop attacking.

i am using VMware Window Xp Professional

i also did a check it isn't the server lag neither the Regional itself cause i have friends whom didn't dc during the runs.

this problem arises recently therefore i decided to install VMware and it still happened so didn't manage to complete any of my runs at the moment.

 

'Could not find component on update server. Contact VMware Support or your system administrator.'
Problem occurs when i tried to download VMware Tools, any solution for this?

 

So this problem persist with gpu on window 7? I don't want to go through the hassle of installing VMware. I actually did it back then when maple royals doesn't support dual client but did a factorial reset.
