A great Idea about Hp Wash Issue.

Hello, I just thought about a great idea to make hp wash fair.

What do you think about adding nx items which can decrease your level, by 1, 5 or 10 depends on which one you buy. and then with much effort youll be able to hp wash to max at any level even at 200 instead of lose your character .

What you think about this idea people?

 

Decrease lvl is similar to making new char, cause u will have to train again to gain those lvl, so why dont make a new char without spending nx...
And for washing for some class like NL or BM or Corsair u need to start very soon even from lvl 1 (adding base int).

So i think the only choice here now is ... Lets start a mage =)

I think people already washed perfectly will get angry with any idea that make the washing easier cause it will be unfair for them.

I just hope everyone join this game first time must have a big notice to their face "you need to wash hp if want bossing" so no more newbie waste their time for first char which need wash hp to boss later.

 

haha they definitely should add a huge notice about how important it is!

and about the the first thing you said im not agree because i invested a lot of this character, for example quests i finished. marriage for apq, special nx from royal points, and so on. its really different from train from level 190 to 200 for example or whatever levels you choose to decrease than starting all over again powerless with no skills and do everything all over

 

HP washing has already been a very staple meta in royals for quite a long time.

Decreasing a character level via NX, on paper does sounds like a pretty decent idea, but that offers a player unlimited amount of opportunity to enjoy the climb from perhaps lvl135–lvl140
(Access to zak/krex leeching while still having a giant INT Pool)

Leading to a sudden rise of a 101 new methods to abuse eventually a questionable amounts of 30k/30k HP characters.

A sudden break on this standards will definately cause discomfort among the current player base who actually spent time recreating their characters to reach the amount of HP/MP target.

 

Hi Saya. Yeah... hp washing is annoying, and expensive. :/

 

I thought about other good idea too, for example a very tough daily repeated quest which can increase your base hp by very little and then any player at any level wont lose hope even if take years of daily quest for max hp one day. a tough and tiring daily quest for add a little base hp.

hows that sounds? would you take such a thing into consideration? @Matt @John

With the HP washing quest, some medals that offer HP, reasonable bossing levels (aka levels more appropriate for killing the boss not leeching levels and think without some of the insane items we have today), and hyperbody there are only a few bosses that are unachievable by a couple classes. Those bosses weren't necessarily designed to be good for everyone- just like not every class is a perfect farmer.

The whole point of HP washing being difficult is because it's supposed to be- especially given it's free here (compared to costing real money on GMS, etc). The end all though is you don't need to HP wash. Most bossing level parties can get by with HB alone.

 

I've been in this server since it first started. Countless, and @Sayoran I really do mean countless Feedback threads on the subject of how to fix HP washing have been started and discussed. Your topic about HP Washing is just another drop in the vast ocean of topics regarding HP Washing.

There were even Admins and GMs who spoke out about the need to reform the HP washing mechanic and offered very well thought out suggestions on how to implement it moving forward. In the end, the suggestions were not met with the same enthusiasm from the owner of this server. Some of those Staff members who voiced their concern, the very players who were moderating this community/server (one at the highest level), have resigned since then. Ultimately it is the owner of this server, Matt, who decides on how the server is run and time has shown he will not change his stance on HP Washing. HP Washing is here to stay. You may not like it, but that is the truth.

Most if not all the players, including me can empathize with all the new players being hit with the reality of HP Washing that is so prevalent in this server. We've all been there. The best advice I can give to all the new players is to accept that HP Washing is and will still be an active part of Royals in the foreseeable future and move forward. You will have to make the decision that you will take the time and effort to invest in HP Washing or find another server that will better suit what you want from a Maplestory server.

If it is any consolation. If you do decide to start a new character, Royal Point items are transferable through Cash Shop storage in the same account, so it is not a total loss. Just make sure that you make your new character in the same account as your unwashed character. Only cosmetics such as haircut, eyes, etc can not be transfered.

Wow, a very nice and decent answer. Thank you very much. In my opinion the hp wash really need to be changed, if its because of voting thing or something so maybe need to find an alternative way to encourage players to vote daily. but well, Matt is the owner and this is his decision after all. I think the hp wash mechanic should be marked with big letters so people will realize from the beginning that its so important thing unlike in the original maplestory, beacuse if not then so many other players will screw up like I did after realized it by a random conversation in the game in level 106. it really harsh for people who invested so much effort and time in the game. But well, if mechanic cant change, at least make very seenable notices about hp wash then because it definitely a primary thing in this game. unveryfortunately i had a hard decision of opening a bishop and then do all over again with a new night lord... well tough...

 

Saya... why do you need a bishop? If it's so you can leech your new NL, you have me, I am a bishop, can give you free leech. =)

I can't afford the AP resets tho...

 

This might require a lot of wrestling with the code, as you'll need the item to also open you a window similar to the ap reset window, and require you to remove 5 ap, before you can confirm the lvl down.

Btw, a funny side effect of such an item would be the ability for leechers to upgrade their gear while lowering their lvl to stay in 1h range, but provide a better leech. Right now most of the tryhard leechers recreate their mage once they gained a good mage gear, now any mage would be able to do it.

 

That's a logic I can never really agree with. It's not even not "designed to be good" but rather certain class simply can't do it without HP washing. By the same logic, I could say that Pink Bean or Auf are bosses that are designed only for high lvl warriors with HB which is not true.

A lot of our ideas are now not focused on removing HP washing (since we know its pointless and far too late) but rather introducing more ways to gain HP that does not involve having to wear INT equips and add base INT early or having to select the nuclear option (remaking your character). Of course, gaining extra HP should not be easy and it should stay that way.

All of us are just trying to contribute to the server's lifespan in our own ways and it would be nice if the Staff team could at least look through and reply to the thread.

 

Wow such a great comment! I agree with every word. The hp washing is not a privillege in the game, but a Must. hp washing is not a natural way to gain more hp but just playing games with the system mechanics so it should be programmed like an extra and not like a must.
at least make it not a "must" so players who do not hp wash can enjoy and play the game as players who did.

seriously it make everything so tough, tiring and not fun, instead of enjoying play the game i need to invest too much time and effort on hp wash and stay stuck since i know i cant let myself level up before done some stuff with int and ap reset at every level over and over again and should be ‎excessively careful for not making any mistake. this is ridiculous.

 

Op if you set yourself end game goals be ready to sweat.
It’s like barely studying for a final and get a low grade, while the other kid who worked his ass off studying got a perfect score and finished his degree.
How is it ‘not fair’ that this kid gets to have good job offers while you have to settle?(Gets into end game boss runs while you have limited options)
The more you invest in the game, the more reward you get, as in everything in life.
Do u aim for a 30 hp NL to solo ht?
That’s like aiming to be a CEO in a high tech company, while you don’t invest nearly enough time in studying the field.
There’s no equality just like in life, because some people choose to work harder than others.
and some bosses are very difficult as they should be, or this game was not interesting at all.

Thanks man haha. Well i got no choice but to start a new night lord with hp wash. But first I made a magician which i wanna turn into a bishop and get some good int equips on the way

 

Saya if you want we can share equips. I already have some decent ones.
