Having to do an entire second Horntail run because you fell out of the map or ran out the timer feels extremely punishing.
Personally I’ve never fallen off the nest in all my years of maple, and from talking to friends it’s really an uncommon occurrence. It could possibly be resolved through GM assistance if that were to be made into a policy, since it’s likely something that can be checked via game logs, and perhaps video evidence might be needed. In other servers I’ve heard it’s changed so the egg doesn’t exist and the Dragon Stone is dropped directly by Horntail to rectify the situation. This isn’t nostalgic, but I suppose it works
I made a feedback about this looooong time ago and in July 2018, they updated it. https://royals.ms/forum/threads/update-54-05-07-2018.123721/ "Falling down in Nine Spirit's Nest will no longer warp you out from the map." How does one actually run out of the timer unless they afk as soon as they enter the nest? The whole process of hatching and breaking the egg takes less than 10 seconds.
They've done a fix where you literally cannot of the map anymore. Also the timer is extremely generous, How much handholding does a player need nowadays?
