Not entirely true. For example, their channels are limited to only 8 despite having a similar population as Royals. Knowing the natural desire for convenience, many players there also prefer to have more room but they keep it limited for the sake of their server. A server can't only provide what players want if its durability is to be considered in long term. Nerfs are bound to happen when certain features allow players to take advantage to an extreme degree.
Its just upsetting, bunch of hackers, vote abusing with its vote2win issues, and players who worked hard to create methods to fight against them and to compete against the ridiculous economy are just punished again and again. Changes such as lowering the amount of horntail channels, pushing new content like Pink Bean, cZak & cHT to counter against legitmate methods and actively pushing out autoban should be the way. Players can easily accept progressive slow nerfs. Not slapping such huge nerfs again and again towards the largely loved content since patch 65. Be it potion changes, gen/bliz/meteor marco nerf, crash nerf & avoid NL/Shad nerf. This just tilts the community a little too much. Does it solve the problem? absolutely no. WS/CS 510mil, why? your hackers are still here. Right now, welcome back to our good old days, whats your NL range buddy? oh your a paladin? gtfo we can still mule it, everyone has one anyways. Meanwhile auto-ban which is supposedly be coming in swimmingly isn't working too well huh. This might also be the reason of how the gap between royals and other server is becoming smaller and smaller. Well, i don't play legends, but for discussion. if anyone does enjoy that server or @Kimberly can share on how is the hacking & vote2win situation there? Well. until this is "Auto-ban" is fixed, i guess we won't be seeing any future large content? This is disappointing. I guess we can focus with mushroom kingdom now.
The big nerfs arrived in Royals because related features were abused to a balance-disrupting degree or they were deemed the appropriate way to counter the balance-destroying exploits. If the other server isn't implementing identical nerfs, they probably already have additional restrictions, which of course act as an inconvenience factor to many, to prevent such abuse. In this case, royals probably offered too much from the start before realizing things went too far. Either we begin with freedom and add restrictions or we can begin with those restrictions and loosen them along the road. The former will of course raise more complaints since the psychology of humans naturally dislike adjusting to hardship. Royals advertises 2x item drop rate but due to technical complications, we were stuck with 15x equip drop rates over 3 years. Patch 65 nerfed it by 20% but it's still at 12x which is 6 times higher than the proposed standard. Yet, the majority complained about the nerf which is a perfect example of the psychology I mentioned. Nerfs will tilt the community but some are necessary to keep the game balanced and durable for more years to come. We, as the stagnant end game veterans may leave the server anytime since we had our fun. It'd be a bit selfish to expect the server to keep adjusting to the veterans when power creep is accelerating like never before. In the end, this server should be preserved at its most durable state, both for newbies and veterans, for future players to experience the same joy we once shared.
I think it's extremely rude of you towards Kimmy/Legends by claiming you don't play there, yet you expect the owner to comment on Royals matter You are free to comment about Royals status as a player, but please don't drag Kimmy into this argument openly and resulting in me having to ban Kimmy for advertising Legends We also do not go to Legends forum as Royals Staff status and comment on their matters, you should only do so as the server's player
I think Kimberly is a player of Royals server too no? She doesn't need to reply & simply ignore this, or simply report my post if she thinks its rude. If on top of that if we are not allowed to ask for opinion of other server to improve ours in forums. Feel free to delete my comment and drop me with forum warning points.
You pinged her and requested her to talk about Legends here, and you claimed you want her to comment as a player of Royals Are you sure you wanna continue this argument?
I did not specifically ask her to advertise her server or anything of the sort. I only asked her, for the betterment of our server, on her opinion on the hacking & vote2win situation in comparison? Are you sure you wanna continue this argument as a forum moderator?
"Well, i don't play legends, but for discussion. if anyone does enjoy that server or @Kimberly can share on how is the hacking & vote2win situation there?" What you are saying here is essentially "I am not gonna play Legends, but can you come here to Royals forum and describe how is it like on Legends" There's a difference between discussing game features or mechanics and requesting other servers owner to describe their server here It's the same as going to Shop A and asking Shop B owner to explain Shop B's situation to Shop A's owner - example "Can you explain to him why you have more customers" That is rude to both sides, so I don't know why you still insist to proceed with this
I don’t really see how it’s the same analogy. Joon didn’t ask Kim why their server is better or worse. It’s more like, what do you serve on your menu? Anyways, seems a little unprofessional to argue and threaten as a mod.
Well, then allow me to rework my questions, since it deem under "rude". How about advice on royals current system for improvement?
Using your analogy of "what do you serve on your menu?" It would be the same as going to restaurant A and asking for restaurant B's menu Although I did not threaten anything such as giving warning points or forum ban, you may request another Forum Mod (Sen) to handle this instead, or report me to the Staff team for 'threaten'
Personally I think it's equally unprofessional of current Royals staff member(s) to go and play Legends during their time on staff because of "boredom" when other members of staff are tanking all the work. But I should try to avoid pointing fingers nor am I apparently allowed to post screenshots from the Legends forum under the banner of "advertising another private server" so a snide comment is all you'll get from me!
I will give it to you straight What you wanna ask is "As a player of Royals, what do you think of the vote abuse or hacking situation now?", which is different from "As the Legends owner, can you tell us how Legends is, in comparison to Royals?" There's no need to drag other servers in when proposing improvements to be made
Questions were answered and mysteries were solved. Now seems like a good timing to close the thread to prevent unnecessary ww3 @Sen .
I am kinda confused by that, does that mean Staffs should never ever play or try other private servers?
I believe as a forum moderator you should have simply replied that User Kimberly would be advertising if this was answered, so please refrain from going towards this direction. Thats it. Preventing advertising is your main concern yes? not "Are you sure you wanna continue this argument?" and try to start like what @sparky95 mentioned , "ww3" That aside. No "how Legends is, in comparison to Royals?" that is not my intention, but in hopes for an answer to improve from another perspective that have experience in development.
If you believe me simply stopping you from doing the 'advertisement' instead of persuading you to stop would be better, then yes I would do it Although I believe giving reasons of why doing certain things shouldn't be encouraged, but I would follow the recommended solution of simply stopping you in the future
Are the server's recent changes adjusting to newbies though? Or anyone? All I see is recharging stars now costing hundreds of millions. It still costs about 6-7b to leech a character to 135, but ways for legitimate players to make this much money has been progressively nerfed through and through. It's a lot harder for newbies to get to where veterans are in 2k21. Via legitimate means anyway. I agree with you preserving the server is an important part of staff's considerations but I do not agree that the changes implemented particularly in recent years are helpful, and that is at least in part due to staff misrepresentation. As for locking the thread, sure if we all think this is derailing but it would be a shame to ignore the fact that Legends actually has a coherent staff team who regularly engage with their community in a positive light from the very top. Their players, particularly the vocal ones in their community generally seem to be happier from what I read on their forums on the odd occasion. Are we really all just toxic as a community and should we be reflecting? Maybe. I really don't know.
