What is Autumn Eve?

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a holiday honoring the harvest season, which takes place throughout various cultures in East Asia in their own unique ways. In Korea, this holiday is referred to as “추석”--which literally translates to “Autumn Eve.” One of the largest holidays in the country, Autumn Eve is a day of games, celebration, family gatherings, and of course, delicious food.

In the Maple World, things have unfortunately not been going well for Korea(n Folk Town) this Autumn Eve. As an acclaimed hero throughout the world, you have been called upon to assist these remote villagers in trouble. Without you, Autumn Eve this year will be doomed!



There are three parts to this event:

I. The citizens of KFT are starving! As climate change takes its toll, the yearly harvest has only gotten more and more scant. Meanwhile, the Goblin Kings have only gotten more and more powerful as they demand an annual tribute from the townsfolk. Please find your way to the remote village and donate some hearty alms to them, so that the bountiful festivities of Autumn Eve may continue this year.

II. The Goblin Kings are furious! Their bellies endlessly grow, yet they will never feel truly satisfied. The townsfolk are at their wit's end. Please trek to their hidden home and offer some delicious goodies to them, so that they do not take out their anger (and hunger) on the innocent citizens of KFT instead.

III. The God of Mountains is missing! The one who has kept the villagers safe from these nefarious goblins and other monsters has been nowhere to be seen for many years now. What could he possibly be up to? Please search for him deep in the mountains and present some unique offerings to him, so that he may continue to provide divine protection to the citizens of KFT for future generations.

RULES

• All entries must be submitted by October 3rd, 2021 at 11:59PM server time.
• All entries must include all three parts of the event.
• Each player may only participate in one entry.
• Each entry may include up to six players. Each player will receive the full prize if selected.
• Players may not reserve spots in the thread to submit an entry at a later time.
• Screenshots must be uncropped, unedited, and take place in an in-game map.
  • Part I must take place in "Korean Folk Town."
  • Part II must take place in "Goblin House."
  • Part III must take place in "A Small Well."
• All entries must abide by Game Terms & Conditions as well as the Forum Rules & Regulations.

Description: This is the story about the little kittyhood. One day, her mother gave her a picnic basket. Her mother said "Share this basket with the village, for these are troubling times. But, you must keep half the basket and leave it at the goblins house. Do not stop, for they are angry. Leave it and come home quickly". So the little kittyhood handed out food to the people of Korean Folk Town until half the basket remained. She then did as her mother had asked and went straight to the goblin's house, left the basket there and ran away.

But, the little kittyhood was naughty and didn't go straight home. Instead, out of curiosity, she decided to explore the deep, dangerous forest. Suddenly, she saw a faint shimmer between the trees. As she approached the shining light, she saw no other than the God of Mountains! He had been missing for quite some time. The little kittyhood did not know how to appease the God of Mountains. But then suddenly she remembered the storybook from the library she read. The God's love for axes. She remembered she had her father's axe with her (which he gave her in case she ran into trouble in the forest), and decided to give it to the God, in hopes of convincing him to return to Korean Folk Town.

Description: Everybody knows that Chang'e lives on the moon right? However, in Vietnamese folktale, there's another man that live on the moon too. The story about Cuoi.
Once upon a time, there lived a woodcutter named Cuoi. One day he went into the forest to chop down some trees. Suddenly, he saw four tiger cubs lying dead in front of their cave. Just in time, the mother tiger arrived home, Cuoi so afraid that he climbed up the nearest tree to hide. Looking down from the tree, Cuoi saw the mother tiger went to a tree near by, took some leaves, chewed them up and placed them in the tiger cubs's mouths, the tiger cubs miraculously recoverd and started to move and play. Cuoi waited until the tigers went away, slowly crawled down, walk toward the tree and dug the root out to take it home.
On the way home, he saw an old man lying dead on the grass. He pulled some leaves, chewed them and put it into the man's mouth. The old man's eyes started to open, then he informed Cuoi about this miracle banyan tree. This tree was only used to heal people and remember never ever water it with dirty water, otherwise it will fly up to the sky.
Cuoi brought the tree to his home and planted in the garden. He watered it with fresh water from the well everyday. Cuoi saved countless lives with the magical tree and never hide its secret to the village.
One day he saved a dead dog, the dog was very grateful and loyal to him. Another day, he saved the daughter of a wealthy man in the neighboring village. The girl was grateful and wanted to be his wife. They got married and lived happily.
One day, when Cuoi wasn't home, a band of robbers from the neighboring village so jealous of him that they broke into his house, killed his wife and threw her intestines away so he couldn't save her. Cuoi tried to save her but he couldn't without her vital organs. Seeing Cuoi sorrowfully crying, the dog asked him to take its organs so he could save his wife. Although Cuoi had never tried to replace a person's organs before but he willing to take the risk. Amazingly, his wife was brought back to life. He made a clay replica of organs and tried to saved his dog. Eventually, the dog also heal and live again. However, his wife after being resurrected became an absent-minded person.
One day, Cuoi went into the forest, he told his wife to water the tree with fresh water from the well. However, she watered the tree with dirty water instead. The tree immidiately lift itself up into the sky. When Cuoi came home, the tree had already a head above him. He quickly grabbed the roots and tried to pull the tree back. But it continued to fly up to the sky with Cuoi clung to it. The tree kept on going until it reached the moon. Since then, Cuoi has been living on the moon with his magical banyan tree. People from the ground can also see Cuoi and the tree's shadow on the moon, clearest on the Mid Autumn day, when the moon is most full.

Description:

Miss Yeon was Yeon-ing for her husband and for some food, so we brought her some Seal Meat and a few beers. Hopefully it'll make her happy in these trying times. Next, we focused our efforts on the dastardly Goblin Kings.

John and I weren't sure which Goblin wanted what snack, so we snuck into their house and left all three options on the floor. For some reason, they just kept walking back and forth and didn't pick up the food. Maybe they're shy?



Lastly, we trekked to A Small Well to leave a unique offering to the God of Mountains. We found a rare Rice Cake Hat that is no longer obtainable in-game and dropped it at his feet. He refused to speak to me because I had not completed any of his quests, but I think he liked the gift.

Overall, our trip to Korean Folk Town made us question the sustainability of the village. Afterall, we are living in the 21st century. Hopefully the village finds better use of their tax money so they can start importing some food!

KDT and I were decided to dress up hanbok to celebrate this wonderful Autumn Eve festive in Korean Folk Town!

When we were walking around the town, we saw that Mr Hongbu was hungry and we decided to offer some delicious roasted pork and ramen to keep him away from starving

after that.....

We visited the King Goblins and also offered them some delicious exotic fruits to keep them healthy.

Lastly, we heard that Mr God Mountain was looking for the axes but we couldn't find him the axes he wants, so....

We gave him the bronze, silver and gold plates and hope he likes it hehe

"Long ago, the villagers in Korean Folk Town lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the goblins attacked. Only the God of Mountains, master of the axes, could stop them, but when the town needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and a new heroine has risen, a village girl named zzabel. Although her cooking skills are great, an even more dangerous villain has appeared, Heep, who she must defeat before she can restore peace. But I believe zzabel can save the town."



Grandma Yeon and zzabel having a nice mid-day maekju session when a mysterious purple creature named Heep claiming to be the leader of the goblins swings by the village demanding for food... How rude...



In an effort to seek peace for the village, the heroine zzabel offers a fine, dainty spread to Heep and his band of goblin minions to satisfy their hunger. Unfortunately, she did not meet with much success, for Heep and his minions have a nasty and fluctuating temper... Even the exotic apples from the distant lands of Amoria were not sufficient to appease them.



After seeking sage advice from the folks in the village, zzabel makes her way to where the God of Mountains resided as a last resort to rid the village of evil. A lover of the axes, the God accepts her offering of a Tavar crafted by Maple World's best blacksmith. Fireworks lit up the sky signalling the God's bestowing of power to zzabel. Caught off guard by the sudden flash of lights and burst of godly energy, Heep was about to meet his demise at last!

One time traveling through time and space. Yobi came a poor Korean village to eat their famous foods in mid autumn festival, but unfortunately the first day Yobi arrived in the village, people told her that there are not much delicious food can eat because they gave all food for goblins... hmm so Yobi think she need help them a hand if she still want eat those yummy foods. Villagers say that goblins love rice wine, so Yobi asked people help her make abit food and alot wine this time...

Yobi went to the place where the God of mountain was imprisoned after 3 goblins fall asleep and told him about secrets that the nine tailed fox was afraid of gold, God of mountain gave her a golden axe and told her give it for a hero in village so he can help kill nine tailed fox and save God of mountain from captivity.

Description: A KFT Adventure in a Mythical Desert*. (May not contain an actual desert)
Long ago, when the pyramids were still young, Egyptian kings played a game of great and terrible power. But these Buttermilk Chicken Games erupted into a war which threatened to destroy the entire world, until a brave and powerful Pharaoh locked the magic away, imprisoning them into 7 Millennium Spices. (Description Continues...)

The Legendary Spices were stolen by some punk Goblins!! *Dramatic Pause for Suspense* We got this! Those Goblins wont understand one bit of Ancient Chicken Philosophy. In the meantime, we gave the townsfolk what they really needed to try out, the new shrimp filler box from KFT, only 3 easy payments of 300k, mmmmm-mmmhmm’.

We planned out a heist. Snacks and “other things” were brought for the Goblin Deities. While they were distracted with the bountiful harvest, we withdrew from the bank of can of whoop butt, to save the town from their rage. Most importantly we secured the sacred spices.

Obtaining weapons to protect the Village, our mission was a success! Once Again, The Legendary Chicken Trees were planted, as requested by the God of the Mountains. The trees were ready to decay in peace, into the abyss of the eternal spices, to wherever/whenever delicious fried chicken is needed. You know, kind of like how the Sahara fertilizes the Amazon? The God of the Mountains, with his goal now complete, could now return. The ancient prophet returned to town from out of the realm of darkness, with a five peace dinner meal in hand.

Epilogue:
The magic was sealed away once more, and the people of the Egyptian like Folk Town were left to starve probably around the same time next year, and many years to come. Also, some guy with a food truck came by and saved the town from starvation or something, but this was completely unrelated to our acts of Heroism! We saved the Town!

Description:

Once upon a time in ancient Korean Folk Town. There lived 3 big scary goblins deep in the mountain by the abandon house. Everyone from the village dreaded going into the mountain fearing for their lives.

Then one fine day a novice warrior known as Yushikyu, suddenly appears in the village and went into the mountains despite villagers warning.



She then chanced upon the God of Mountains, who adamantly handed her a holy water that would inevitably transform her into a beast to fight against the goblins.With no one else standing, the terrified warrior accepts her fate.



She then thwarts the goblins and saves the village, returns the peace to the village and all ends well.



Legend has it that she became an Immortal Beast protecting the villagers till to this day.
