Do you know what day it is today? Why it's MapleRoyals' 10th birthday, ya dingus! Earlier today I thought it would be nice to create a little something to celebrate the occasion, so I made this: Spoiler: No, not this Disclaimer: This is far from an exhaustive list. I just picked some random things! (Also, I didn't proofread it, so errata may occur!)

Happy 10th Anniversary Everyone! It has been a wild journey since I joined the server, but has been a great experience! Looking forward to 10 more! Predictions for 2033: -Leisure still roams the streets of Kerning. Crime is still present, but it lingers in the shadows. -DickDann returns and has taken up crossbow arrow merching. He is now a trillionaire, and gives away mushroom sacks to the poor. -Matt took out a loan with the Ore Store and purchased Nexon. Their servers have been wiped, and a looping video of Thomas the Train now plays forever.
What a timeline Mr. Joong, you should be part of the staff.... Despite everything Its undoubtly something remarkable that our server is this active after a decade, great acomplishment from our old boys Matt, and the rest of the oldies, glad to be apart of this for over 5 years now!(btw, didnt know i joined just after APQ was introduced, no wonder why appos could go for over 17m back then)
Ah, how nice, and to think that I played since the first anniversary, although I played single player for the first few years, later I met people and now I find myself in an outstanding guild that is very, very strong and dedicated, long live the royals! Greetings to all

warm hugs to every one of you. ex-staff members, current ones, OG players and newcomers alike. not only maplestory itself, but mapleroyals stands as my favorite game to ever exist. thank you. PS: carnival PQ, guild PQ and HT already existed back in 2014.
It's MapleStory's own Baby Yoda! Indeed, there are many things I didn't include. If I were to have included everything fun or memorable (to me) the whole thing would have been many times longer! There are countless details people may not remember, like old custom implementations of various systems, different generations of staff members and notable community members. It's almost as if the server has had distinct eras with more or less distinct user groups. People from one "era" may not have heard of users or understand the context of events that took place in the time before them. Big names come and go, as do community dramas, guilds and rivalries. The design ethos also shifted several times over the years, from heavily customised, to GMS-like, back to heavily customised. Personally, I think it would have been fun to document when each iconic thing was added or removed (whether those be custom items, seasonal events or random features like the mapowner command or the FM button removal). Maybe some day people will make archaeology threads like this but for MapleRoyals.
Thanks for the great post Joel, it reminded me of all the good times I had on this server from when I first joined - it’s like a jog through memory lane. Time really does fly… at this point are we nostalgic for the official server or are we nostalgic for the memories we made on mapleroyals
