I'm not sure about this, since APQ is actually bearable now. Drama is definitely reduced: of course most of it is due to fixed spawns but I do think the reduced dry run chance and value per apple are also contributors. Most drama now is from leavers rather than apple theft. Ironically, people used to summon farm during APQ since it was SO terrible and spending 38 min + recruitment, key farming and waiting for drama or for people to do a #2, only to get 0/1/0/0 was the worst feeling. I very much prefer a consistent good rate than an insane rate during one month that floods the pq with the worst people.
So they do a nice thing and fix the APQ rates, making it not absolutely horrible to run anymore and your response is to advocate for having this taken back away from us? I honestly do not understand this kind of behavior. Apparently some people really do just hate having nice things. And hate other people having nice things too I guess.
its 50/50 some people use it as income others want cheap/free appos for boss. The farmers will get the appos regardless. I agree it would be nice to see people work hard for appos not just the farmers that slave 8 hour days.
Care to elaborate on what points I got wrong? Did the rework not allow more players to consistently gain access to a higher average number of boxes? Where did I mention the drop rate? I never once disputed nor claimed the figures behind the drop rate. I've explained that one of the factors that have led to the increase behind the market being flooded with apples is because of the reworked spawn position. Get your facts right Time to up your reading compression skills buddy.
Absolutely did. Think we went from a couple of smegas a day to maybe once every couple of days? The community blacklist probably has some data in their somewhere.
The former comment was for the first reply, so no, you're not the one that's wrong. If you actually read what I wrote, you'd understand that as stated, the position changes came 1 month later, which effectively was not the reason why apple prices went down. Hence why your statement is invalid. Surely one knows how to trail the multiple replies back to the original point of the post? The title of the post perhaps? Of course, assuming one has sufficient reading comprehension that is.
You don't seem to understand what the rework has done so I'll hop on MS Paint and show you if you want. The TLDR is prior the the rework maybe one in every five APQ runs ( I'm being very generous here ) cleared over 80% of the boxes in the bonus stage. Whereas after the change that number is closer to four in every five runs. That is a relevant factor. MORE BOXES = MORE APPLES. Get it?
I bet we freestyle and ignore the APQ maps uwuomo ell map and we still get an average of 8-12 appo a run 4/4. I’ve apqed so much I’ve had many scuffed runs where we just ignore map a lot of boxes missed and I’m still wet af. Unless that’s just an extreme coincidence.
There's a chance an individual might get great rates but that will come at the detriment of the other members in the party.
I feel like I'm spitballing a bit here but if it were me deciding this... I would definitely do something like +60 attack for 3 minutes with a 200 stack. 3 minutes is perfect to top off a boss that's almost dead while only containing a fraction of the annoyance of stoppers. The 200 stack makes carrying them less annoying. 10 hours per stack is still less than Apples/Peppermints/Gizers and it's 6x better than stoppers currently. My gripe with summon farming is that I used to train my then cleric at that map and would often find someone doing it in nearly every channel (still the case) because it's easy and has little requirements. I sold all my stoppers by undercutting everyone in price but still had to lower my price way too often. Ever since, I have been keeping an eye on the price of stoppers and noticed their price has only gone down in the last 18 months, never up. This is contrary to the price of Apples, APRs, WS and CS, just to name a few, which fluctuate over time. Their supply is just large with little to stop it and it's keeping the whole attack-buff system off-balance. If a 3-minute stopper were to replace the way-too-common 1-minute stopper, it should logically contain less than 1/3 the supply of the 1-minute stopper - which leads me to conclude it shouldn't have some half-baked way to farm it. Possible ideas: - Random reward for the Cody's Party Box, Event rewards, etc. (already the case for stoppers) - Random reward for completing PQs (no offense to those white/orange/blue potions & Axe/BW scrolls I get instead) - Random drop from PQ bonus boxes (LPQ, OPQ, etc.) which mostly contain garbage - Random drop from the Green & Horned Mushrooms in the "bonus" room of KPQ (since we're limited both by time & skills) - Random drop from Area Bosses (Mano, Stumpy, Faust, etc.) that do not already drop a Gizer - Random drop from enemies in Ellin Forest, Temple of Time, Shao Temple, Neo Tokyo, LHC And not sure if it was clear the first time but I do still agree with decreasing the supply of apples in ADDITION to the above. (i.e Apples should be the Premium attack buff) Otherwise, these 3-minute stoppers would be just as useless. But what do I know? I'm just a duck.
was there ever justification from staff for retroactively raising the apple rates? i feel like there would be a better discussion to be had if we got some clarification as to why they were altered
How about we just make an NPC that lets your trade 20 stoppers for an Apple or Vice Versa... Joking, but also not really.
Closing this due to the bug fix made in Update 91 which should’ve fixed the unintended increased amount of onyx apples dropping in APQ.
