This is a journal detailing the progression of Zayr - my corsair. I have 3 goals that I want to achieve in this journal. I am confident I can achieve the first two, but the last goal will probably be left unachieved. 1. Reach Level 200 on Zayr and post my range in the mapleroyals damage range thread. 2. Determine to what extent the avoid formula change buffs corsair (ideally by estimating my actual DPM performance in boss runs) 3. Change how players play maple royals (This is likely going to not be achieved, as it would require a major meta or cultural shift in the server). Without further adieu, I introduce the protagonist of this journal: I am still trying to scrape together funding to finish my wash (targeting 30k hp and 10k mp, yes I know it is overkill), but I hope to be finished by next week. From there I plan on trying to run some content to level up, like scarlion / krex, while I try to work my way up to LHC / Horntail / Shao. While leveling up my corsair I also leveled up some mules, namely a LUK paladin crash mule and a DEX bucc si/TL mule. I also have 2 bishops (though one is extremely low level) and 5 bowmaster summon farm mules that I made a long time ago. My gear on Zayr is poverty, with many slots missing. Nonetheless I can still wear my gun so it is technically a functioning corsair. I hope to scroll this for dex or maybe npc it after i get a decent scarlion helmet. I hope to upgrade this to anniversary earrings. This is decent enough i think. One other thing to note is that I do have mw19 on Zayr, which in hindsight was probably not the best use of my mesos, but the book did pass on the first try. Anyways, lets see if I can actually finish this wash and arrive at the starting line.
The starting line I have finally finished washing out my corsair, reaching 4 base int and having an MP pool to reach 30k hp 10k mp (with olaf and the hp quest) I am unsure if i want to invest more in my characters HP, or try to upgrade my gear (I fear that AP reset price will rise in the next few weeks due to the recent ban of vote abusers). I do think i will need to get to at least 19k if I want to join some Von Leon runs, but going for it this early is perhaps unwise. I also got started on the LHC prequest. Killing ani with all the mobs serving as a shield is quite funny. The avoid changes putting in some work here. I want to try and get into bearwolf parties asap to level as fast as possible. That being said I heard it is hard for sair to join parties so I may need to host my own. Tried out a duo zak (ambitious, I know), and my partner ended up dying / dc, so I ended up killing body 3 myself. I might try out a solo run soon. Dryish run, but i did get 5k nx. Hopefully i can join a bearwolf party soon.
The Exp Grind I managed to get into my first Bearwolf party, and gained a whole 2 levels - thanks to the mischief alliance. Unfotunately at 10k hp, it was quite stressful due to getting 2 hit KO'd. As a result, (and to unlock shao as another EXP daily) I spent the rest of my mesos on APRs and washed out to 13k hp. I followed through and solo'd a zakum. Took 1hr 2mins total, 1 apple and the rest were stoppers. Pretty decent exp, got me most of a level. Also ran 2x krex, one trio, and the other a trio that became a duo. I managed to acquire an avg ring: I also ran dojo 2x to get a white belt. The slots are filling up. I am still missing 3 rings, a face and an eye accessory, however. I also Managed to recruit a BW party - running with DK’s is quite the luxury, HB puts in a lot of work. A total of 180% was gained during this 1hr grind session. The plan for now is to try and keep up with the event dailies for coins (to get anni earrings) and try to run shao + bearwolfs daily till I can unlock rose garden.
The exp grind part 2 Started off with another krex, still managed to find a party that will let me loot the rings. I was rewarded with a solid upgrade to my krex ring. I got 3/3 now. I joined a dojo party and upgraded my belt Joined a reindeer LHC party and got an element 30 boost i can use in the future. Also got to 154. Once i reach 155, horntail becomes a possibility. When people recruit I’ll respond and see if they want to take me.
