Dragon Faltizan (Level 120) Average/Maximum Potential Clean/Speed (2-8): 107 (117)/Slow (7) Known Max Attack In-Game: 115 Attack Purple Surfboard (Level 95) Average/Maximum Potential Clean/Speed (2-8): 99 (109)/Fast(5) Known Max Attack In-Game: unknown pretty much, spear has 8 atk but you lose 2 atk speed. doest it really worth it using spears? im not mentioning skis, because they have lower damage than psb with slower atk, so psb wins. you have same skills for both weapons, so why people go for spears over poles? i play mmo and rpg's for over 10 years. always atk speed > atk so please tell me why. also, the highest pole is speed 8 with same atk as spear. so even that wouldnt be so bad. and please, do not talk about the speed of the skill. they are EXACLY the same skills. they have same speed.
the stabbing animation does more damage with spears and the overhead swinging animation does more damage with polearms. Dragon Crusher Spear skill uses 3x attacks of the stabbing animation and is best utilized with Sky Skis because of the attack speed + high base possible attack. This is considered your main bossing skill.
Just go Hybrid, combining both PA and Spears. Let me explain it to you. Spears and PAs both have their own advantages according to the skills being used. Just like @Nicko has mentioned, spears do more damage with a stab, and PAs do more damage with a swing. The skills Spear & PA Crusher are both 100% stab. They hit 3 mobs 3 times when maxed. As you know, spears do more damage with stab (It's a significant difference). That's why you'd like to boss using a spear and Spear Crusher. The skills Spear & PA Fury are both 100% swing. They hit 6 mobs when maxed, this skill is very fast, has a long range and is recommended for mobbing. That's why you'd like to grind using a PA and PA Fury. Does that mean we will need to have both a spear and a polearm as our weapon? So when we are bossing, we are gonna have to use a spear And when we are mobbing, we are gonna have to use a polearm?
