I agree 100% with this. For the most part, only a small handful of toxic individuals even benefit from it. So much drama could be stopped by just getting rid of it.
I think Mori was joking. I believe a decent amount of people benefit from lyka farming over the years. I still genuinely believe you can only make consistent amounts of mesos from either HTing, leeching, farming, or lyka hunting. Lyka hunting can easily net you at least as much or more than HTer. While I will never do it myself, its a nice option I feel. Shame its like this, but no surprise.
Only if lyka was available to everyone like HT. Decent number of people reaped the joy of cs drop in the early days after the drop rate update but it didn't take long before a few no life campers, with the help of map ownership system, hogged every channel.
I like hunting for CS and lyka, it's fun. And everyone would have a fair shake and nothing major would need to change if map ownership worked properly. There's no reason to remove the CS. It's fun. If it was fair and sporting it would be even more fun rather than facing the wrath of some no lifer and their guild and abusing the reporting system while they benefit from an exploit
I really like this suggestion, if ccing would bring you to, lets say, the rest spot of the first road map of the area you cced in, you'd be forced to walk 9 maps to get to the area boss again, making it similar to jr. Balrog hunting. For dodo and lily, you can simply cc in the next map over and avoid the long walk, but in lyka you'd be forced to walk from the first oblivion map or use a telerock. As an added bonus, it would annoy the botters, so another win in my book. Because ToT is not as highly contested on map availability, there's not much need to cc all the time if you aren't hunting the boss, so this change would only affect boss hunters, and make the effort of finding and maintaining a map ownership match the reward (cs)
Resting spot sounds good, but not the beginning, imagine going to oblivion 2 to train, someone is in the channel and you cc to be polite, only to have to walk all the way back.
Iirc, holding multiple maps was talked about before. My memory could be off from the exact knowledge that was presented in the forum post. If said person has multiple maps and is killing a boss in another than yours you can provide proof and counter any case against you ks'ing. Time stamps and channel.
