Re-doing the quest is the only solution other than waiting, because GMs don't have the ability to refund untradeable or quest items. Sorry!

Fixed today, unfortunately GMs don't have an ability to refund NX so we can't refund your 8k NX. However, voting again normally tomorrow will...
This was fixed again this evening, so by tomorrow when your 24 hours rolls over you should be able to vote without issues and gain your NX....
