Hey everyone! I'm kuya_james, a very small streamer on Twitch.tv that streamed MapleRoyals. I wanted to bring awareness to everyone about a situation I just experienced last night.

Last night from when I typed this thread, I was live streaming MapleRoyals on Twitch.tv. In the middle of it, my stream instantly stops with no warning and my OBS client alerts to me that I was suspended. Later in the evening, I received an email notifying me that a representative from Nexon made a copyright claim on my channel (I censored the exact email in the above picture, as I think I would get in trouble for showing it out in the public). Fortunately, it was just a 48 hour suspension on my account and not an outright banning.

I was a little salty about the outcome, but I'm not mad or anything like that. Believe it or not, I was planning on that stream to being my last for MapleRoyals, as another streamer warned me that this same situation happened to them the last Royals stream I had previously. I (obviously) didn't take this information seriously, so I find that detail quite amusing to myself. :p

I wanted to share this experience with you all in case you were ever thinking about streaming MapleRoyals on Twitch or elsewhere. I have plans to continue streaming other content (3D art, Stardew Valley, No Man's Sky, and so on), but I will have to play Royals offline (maybe record stuff and post it as YouTube content?)

And honestly, if you ever read this Nexon, you can't stop me or the community from playing here on MapleRoyals. ~f2

Peace out guys and thanks for reading! ~f11

Streaming Mapleroyals was always illegal; I don't like the idea that staff encouraged players to try to skirt passed the rules(Change titles to avoid it being obvious) and risk their twitch accounts over it, especially when trying to encourage players to stream it.

i dont liek it either, if the staff knew ahead of time that streaming royals broke twitch TOS, they shouldve mentioned it in the beginning when they announced the new feature. but i dont see that anywhere in matt's post. now a couple of ppl got temp bans/warnings on twitch. if we give em the benefit of the doubt that the staff genuinely didnt know, then they shoulda released an announcement either to discourage it or give the 'do at your own risk' advice.

Def knew. I posted about it on August 16th in the Discord and was told they were aware that it was plausible.

If you or people you know stream on twitch,
pls pls pls remember to delete all of the VODs or clips.
You can go to setting to turn it off too.

    Dazinuda checks that regularly.

Heyyy fellow streamer~ I read the Terms of Service on Twitch and saw that you aren't allowed to stream illegal softwares. Basically, all private servers are illegal so you can't stream them at all tbh. I've thought about it multiple times on how to stream Royals because it's what I'm hooked to right now. None of my methods work cause I work in this industry, I know how we as officials could find for these stuff as well hahaha

But thanks so much for the heads up on the warning from Twitch. At least it isn't a perma ban. Lemme give you a follow~

Free advertisement. Can't blame them. I brought in so many players to royals on my stream. Constant "is this the best MS private server?" questions and what not. It helped bring in so many players during covid quarantines.

Im not sure why blaming staff at all here. It's very common knowledge that private servers is stolen content and streaming it will get you nexon'd. WoW did it, FF XIV, the list goes on. You accepted twitch TOS so why does staff need to warn us about twitch TOS.
