I can guarantee you the rate in old source was way much higher. I made more than 200+ just by leeching there for few weeks (which I run out of by now)
Maybe, but I am a warrior as opposed to a mage. A 1 hit mage would probably be at least 50% more, so it'd only take 13 hours to get 200 ores. The nerf to bringing non quested characters into ToT does mean that no one ever leeches at Obv2 anymore, lowering supply.
I used to get the majority of mine at fireboars, which had its map spawn unfortunately reduced about 90% in the new source also, S> Arwen's glass shoe (21)
Doing a follow up on my previous comment, I believe more than 1 person has said that either the drop rate is too low or that the place they used to farm on got nerfed. I really wish staff can do something about this as I have tested myself farming on 3 mages all day and I made sort of 180 ores if no less. This is a really turn down as I have 3 attackers, 2 bishops, 2 mules where I do the medicine on daily. That’s a total of 7 characters that requires 14 plates a day or 21 if I am able to redo the quest 3 times in a day. And even by farming all day the supply is super low. I am a hardcore farmer I believe and I have managed to gather a pretty good collection of ores and never had any problem. Not even with mithril until now :/
Have you guys tried Afk-farming mithril ores like you do in voodoos at Hidden Street: Authorized Personnel Only? (About same sized map as Sophilia's Bedroom) I once had a goal to make godly male warrior overall (lvl 80 red something lord) and went to farm it from the [Site] mob in this map ^. Although the drop rate of mithril ore wasn't anything close to HS drops from voodoos, they still dropped substantial amount over time and I made good use of it while blowing up the godly overalls I got. This mob drops average npc-price gears as well which I could npc every now and then to make extra mesos. Main reason people don't go there is simply because farming HS at voodoos will get them more $$/time BUT if mithrils are in higher demand, I'd say you guys should give it a try in this map
Aha! That explains where I got a lot of mine, as well. So, the moral of the story is: if you want mithril ores, ironman a cleric/priest/bishop.
But the numbers vary and heavily depend on luck. I'd only leave my bs there so I can get godly male BM and warrior overalls + gears npc to make mesos.
What about increasing the number of dragon elixirs gained from finishing the quest? I understand the reason for getting 2, but it was 5 in old source if I remember correctly. I'm not saying it should increase to 5, but increasing the amount of elixirs might help mithril prices.
That's probably the main reason Mithril increased so much. I have no idea why they changed it to 2, since you can only fight HT twice a day.
Maybe something like 3 is nice. Do the quest twice, and you are free from the quest for one day. 2 for 1!
But going to Horntail twice a day on 7 characters is a choice you made, and is an absurd amount of characters you Horntail with compared to the average player. That being said, I am also to believe that by the game's design it has never been the intention for 1 player to run that many Horntails a day, and thus see no reason why the design team would have to make it easier for you to do so. Obviously I don't play Royals anymore coz I got banned, but I think I can still make a relevant comparison if I compare your situation to my situation in WoW: I have 6 max lvl characters on WoW currently, and clearing my weekly content on 1 character would take me about 14-20 hours. The game is designed for me to main 1 character, and maybe maintain 1 alt if I have time, but I have 5 alts. I could clear all the content on all 6 characters, but by doing so I would choose to invest way more time and resources into a game that is not designed to be played that way. Should WoW lessen the weekly content so I can clear my weekly content on all my characters? No, because my absurd playstyle would be a choice I made, not them, and just because I can does not mean I should. My point is that if you play absurdly more than the average player, you should not expect the game to be made easier just because you chose to do this. If you want to play that much more, you will have to farm that much more, and with that you might even reach a limit because what you want is just more than you can get, but that's life. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the droprate of Mithril Ore is fine, I'm just saying that the argument of it being hard to farm materials for that many characters every day should not be a part of the reason as to why something should change.
