Reduce damage taken? Are you telling me that you take less damage from enemies when airborne? Please explain further. Maybe I just never paid enough attention to damage numbers.

If you just gonna stand within the mobs, close distance with your ranged class (thief/archer) without any jump attacks, you gonna be taking damage all the time

Jump attacks = moving around to avoid mobs, and sometimes jumping over them, hence the reduction of damage taken

I am not talking about the damage reduced from a flat amount of 100 to 80, I am talking about reducing the chance of being hit such as 100% to 20%

Oh yeah, of course. I'm always jump attacking with my NL (and always have been since I started playing it) since doing that allows you to attack and approach/retreat at the same time. And with the way hitboxes work, sometimes jump attacking lets you attack enemies normally if they're within punching range. I would hope new thieves know to do this, but maybe some don't.

I'm not sure which jump attacks are available to low level archers. I think crossbowman got a few options a while back but I don't know what those are. But they have knockback options the moment they equip a bow since bows and crossbows themselves have a knockback percentage. It starts out low but it's always there, then you forget about it once you get Power Knockback.
