You still have to be able to reply to a GM if they enter your map. If you're recasting the skill without replying to them, then they'll think you're botting and thus you're banned. Otherwise, there's nothing wrong with using a skill that basically has no other real purpose for farming something that's useful. You're still actively there to hit the skill, so it isnt botting. (Unless you'd like to see Heartstoppers rise up to over 1-2mil in price per each stopper because people can't farm them as easily, thus a lot less supply).
not entirely true, as you have to be able to respond to a GM if they show up to your map. people who farm heartstoppers get a bad rep for being afk, but i'd like to think most of us (like me) are present and not completely AFK (pretty sure you can get banned if you are) like yesterday, i respond to this guy immediately after he says something to me. i didnt even take 2 seconds to reply to this guy and he still calls me a botter. like....why? i just answered your god damn question (yes im putting you on blast). not all of us mages just completely AFK. at the end of the day, just ask the mage if they're there. hopefully they respond. and dont be like Uninstall. How the hell you gonna say im botting when i responded to you in less than 2 seconds?? @omgitsdiana your people...
If I was to ever be caught afk while doing this, then sure I'd take a ban for it. But all those players who were present at those maps when this thread was made were not afk. I know this because I was literally talking to several of them in my buddylist / whispers. Also, back to the original topic of: the guy wanted to train here During the last 2 days where I farmed here for several hours, I've given my map away to every single lower lvl who wanted to lvl. Which was the additional reason to why I asked if he talked to any of those players. He could've probably had my map if he wanted it.
I never meant to accuse you of botting or the sort. I was just teasing you about it. If I offended you, I'm sorry. If it makes you feel any better, I did the exact same thing you did 5 minutes later with my archmage.
Why would this be botting? the summon functions the way it supposed to, it's in game and of course people will use it. This is a bonus for those who can use it, if you think it's so unfair and op make one.
"Or any other behavior that allows you to... effect any action in a game with or without your presence." That makes it pretty clear imo. It effects in game action, killing leps, voodoos, whatever, possibly without the person's presence. If they are there that's a different story, as has been stated above. Basically, if you can answer when a GM comes you're fine. Otherwise expect to be banned.
I don't really see it as botting since you have to cast it, I thought more like you using macro or something to re cast it, that's botting. So just to be clear if someone use a summon and then leaves the computer that's botting?
If you're just going to the bathroom you're probably fine. What we did when I was GM was ask if they were there a couple times then warp them to town, which usually took a couple minutes. Which is plenty of time to use the restroom or grab a snack unless... If you're multiclienting, as long as you keep an eye on the other client you shouldn't be banned. Overall it's GM discretion, but putting yourself in the best position to not be banned is good practice.
