This right here. by giving ease-of-access to ToT, it is increased in popularity ridiculously so. If it gains that much accessibility, it will create a new leech spot. I'm not against leeching, I'm against having the same Bishop holders getting most of the MapleRoyals economy flow through them. It will be completely like free-reign capitalism. Once again, agreed. MMOs require strategising. That was the reason why I find this Server so balanced and attractive: it required me to think about what I had to set up with to go on a trip. Makes the server more engaging and weeds out the bad part out of the community easily. I played in so may private servers years ago and the trend i noticed was that I kept switching server to server, all of them with high rates and ease-of-access NPCs. One might think that ease-of-access NPCs are helpful in the sense of saving time to grind, but because of this way of thinking, at some point you will want to cut down grinding time, and eventually you'll hit a point where you just want everything instantly. This kind of thinking is toxic for the community
Well, I guess if you put it that way. My suggestion is based on the fact that the no tele/door is a bandaid for the loophole of skipping maps, if the management decides they wanna keep it this way with the intended effect of deterring people from coming to ToT, then thats a bit of a different discussion. Although, I believe all that does is send all the traffic to skeles, and I think it would b really cool if ToT was a booming grinding area for high lvls, bunch of parties working through the quests, grind parties, etc. that's possible, but I think the benefit of reducing the load on all of the prime grinding maps by distributing people across them more evenly would outweigh the downsides. And if I'm not mistaken, skeles are especially efficient just because bishops do extra damage on them, and I don't think thats the case at any ToT.
Okay, imagine the prime locations for grinding as stacks. Say each stack can hold up to 12 units (your measurement of choice, it doesn't really matter) because of the 12 channels the server has. The stacks will have points in time which they are not full (low times in the server/right after a massive lag spike/etc), but the rest of the time, all the stacks are overflowing, specially the prime locations for higher lvls. If you try to redistribute the load, all the stacks are still going to be overflowed. The optimal solution would be: From the part of users: >Donate; help increase the server capacity. This means more channels in the server From the part of the staff: >To implement some sort of balanced shortcut. That's my 2 cents on the problem
I personally think the walk is fine, especially since I usually walk to ulu/petris anyway. I do think it would be nice to have a vendor though, but I again do not agree with ales and such. I think you should come prepared. If the vendor thing really happened, I would probably use ToT a lot more. It's the only thing really preventing me from going there.
