I like the idea of it, but realistically I can’t see this working out too well as it would ultimately create a lot of drama with people arguing and other reasons mentioned above. I think @PhotonSphere’s idea about including more things in the T&C would be a very good solution. Personally I feel that it is absurd that people can steal boss loots and scam people all day and can get away with it while ksing can get you banned instantly
Unfortunately, I agree with @godys that this would probably turn into: people signing petitions just for the laugh/power trip of getting someone banned, and the sheep mentality at its finest, with people signing petitions just because some other people are doing it, so that guy must totally deserve it, right? This is exactly the sort of thing that Internet communities are unsuitable for, and Royals has perhaps the worst case of troll/apathy/intellectually lazy malice I've ever seen outside of the YouTube comments section.
No way. If enough people vote from a big guild, you can outcast people by banning and/or threatening to ban them. This kind of a system would never be a good idea.
I mean, the obvious fix for people worried about abuse is that it require admin sign-off. If it's more of a "ban nomination" than a strictly enforced ban, it could have a place. Of course, it's probably easier just to amend the ToS as necessary to cover borderline situations in the first place (which is hopefully something that's coming anyway.)
