Hey y'all, I've brought up the idea of compensation for wrongful bans. The reason that they were no longer awarded was due to exploitation (i.e. Player wants to take a break, friend submits a believable yet ultimately invalid report)--leading to both players unfairly abusing the system and Staff facing unnecessary burdens to their work. I understand that this probably seems like an unsatisfying answer, but I bring it up so that you guys can have more information and tRaNsPaReNcY as we continue to discuss the most optimal solutions available.

I do agree that in ideal circumstances, more experience and access can be gradually provided to non-Admins to allow for an easier and efficient process that benefits both the community as well as Staff. However, in light of earlier discussion I unfortunately don't see this happening any time soon.

Honestly, although I do know no actions will be taken anytime soon, I'm nonetheless very glad that you guys at least pay attention to this kind of discussion! :)

    Cheers

I’m relatively confused about this exploitation mechanic but even if the compensation is exploitable, I would think the instances are few and far between. Given the excessive amount of evidence, effort and time it now takes to prove one’s innocence via appealing it’s hard to imagine where the incentive comes from.

Having said that, thank you for raising this for discussion. It is a dialogue worth fleshing out particularly in light of recent events
