It also would have been nice to have suggestions from the Islander community as to how we could accommodate you into the event without ruining the experience for those who are true Islanders as opposed to this sense of entitlement coming from these posts.

As others have stated before me, by staying on the Island, you give up the right to access probably 95% or so of the content offered in the game. Even in GMS/EMS, Islanders couldn't participate in GMS events since the NPC is first found in Lith Harbor IIRC.
