Firstly, thanks for Tim's kind reply. To me, most of the arguments make sense, and it shows GM's efforts on ban appeal. I have been researching on how VPN and MAC address works recently, which made me realize that from GM's points of view, you may not be able to further investigate it by any other way except for VPN and MAC, not like the police who could ask VPN companies to provide more information. Therefore, I would like to show my situation and information of my computer. To begin with, I use the dorm net to log in this forum and to play Royals (proved by the IP attached by the name of my college's name and the chat record) However, as the dorm blocks me from playing Royals and other games, I searched online to find VPN program and downloaded it from http://www.vpngate.net/cn/download.aspx (It's pretty common sense that school net blocks gaming) After it became an installed program in my computer, I used it to play TianTianz by searching for one of the available IP on it from 25 Jan. But the program sometimes kicked me from the IP I was using, so I was disconnected numerous times for a short period (1-3 mins). You can find my login records match what I said. This is also the reason "you never logged in on the same second", because the VPN server kicked me off when the number of users reached the limit. Other users (like albeeee) thus can obtain the same IP and MAC address after I logged off. Oftentimes, I found another available IP to use. (Maybe you could find my IP kept changing.), but the MAC address, which was given and designed by the installed program from the internet, also changed Nonetheless, I totally didn't know how VPN works. I didn't know what IP is. I didn't know what MAC address is (Perhaps you have known I am totally unfamiliar with technology, which could be confirmed by , my reply on Last Friday, 12:38 am. I think MAC address is MAC the apple computer.) Therefore, I cannot do the hacker's stuff. I didn't intentionally change my IP and MAC address to violate the rules. I am not the one Tim described "capable of obtaining the knowledge to spoof MAC addresses and use VPNs to your discretion." I am totally a noob to VPN, IP, and MAC address. Consequently, "I believe you logged off TianTianz and went on albeeee a few minutes later to test some hacks after spoofing your MAC" is a wrong accusation. I didn't even know how MAC works. How come I intentionally logged off and spoof my MAC and violated the rules? I didn't know the installed program can change my MAC address until yesterday. I shut it down the moment I found it, and excluded the possibilities that someone changed his MAC address to the exact the same as mine, because I indeed was unconsciously using other MAC address to play Royals. I was just so happy to learn from my friend that I can play Royals by dorm net, and didn't check its ability to change my MAC address. (He taught me how to use dorm net to play by LINE, and I at first didn't even know how to download it) In a word, I am not good at technology as you can see from my former replies. I didn't know what VPN, IP and MAC are. Therefore I am unable to intentionally abuse VPN, IP and MAC. In addition, albeeee and TianTianz have nothing in common but IP and spoofed MAC address. Based on a spoofed MAC address to ban a well-behaved character, it is unconvincing to those who understand that in this case, the spoofed MAC address was given by the program, not generated from the users. Thus, we can already see the distinct difference between albeeee and TianTianz, because I don't even know how it works. How come I would change MAC and IP on purpose? For this ban appeal, I request a less serious ban, even none, on TianTianz, because I am not a technology pro as you assumed and the arguable connection between albeeee and TianTianz, since the lack of further information from VPN company. The reason why I am asking for a less serious ban on innocent TianTianz is that I hold the responsibility for misusing VPN to break through the dorm net. But in T&C, it doesn't mention that I cannot use VPN to play Royals. From your points of view, you may take me as albeeee on the serface. However, after thinking thoroughly, you will find me a total technology nood, who is impossible to change IP and MAC and violate the rules. So please think twice before denying my efforts to prove my innocence. I admire your efforts to protect users' information even though they violated the rules. However, I would like to attain these information if I may. 1. When did albeeee's account register? (Day, Hour, Minute) >So that I could prove I wasn't using the computer at that time. 2. Did albeeee log in other than 8-9 AM on 26 Jan ? >Same reason for 1. The alibi I mentioned would function as the proof of me not using the computer. This would be provided by my professor, because most of the day I was with my professors to do the research. They can prove I am not using the computer, if albeeee ever logged in before 8-9 AM server time. It is nothing related to my intellectual properties as Tim mentioned. For Tim, Thanks for your reply. It made me spend a few days to understand how VPN, IP and MAC address work. You and GMs efforts on this case are appreciated, as people viewing this ban appeal would also thank you for your investigation. Happy Mapling.
By the way, if GMs still doubt if I was totally not familiar with VPN, IP and MAC address before, I can provide the chat record of me asking about what it is on Skype, Line and other social media.
If you think my argument makes sense, please unban me. I am still waiting here to prove my innocence.
We haven't unbanned you because your argument doesn't make sense and we feel you are guilty. You are not going to convince us otherwise unfortunately.
