Maybe not the best solution for everyone but in summary this hurts the community way less than doing nothing. I wish things were done like this in MapleStory Europe too, but hey it's Nexon full of experts and this isn't :)

Edit: I'm glad I wasn't affected by this, saw that thread the moment it was created stating that something odd was going on so I decided to not log in before it's fixed. Anyways, it wasn't a holiday for me so I regret nothing. The compensation of having 2x exp for the "lost" time is fair even if these people don't have another holiday next week.

The scheduling of the event makes zero difference to me, but for the sake of the American and Canadian players who had the day off this Monday and *won't* have next Monday off, I think it would be fairest to schedule the event for a weekend, when they - and most other players - will be able to benefit from it.

What... How is it fair if they don't have a holiday during the event to compensate their efforts when they did have a holiday. I'm not sure I understand what your opinion is, actually.

I understand that we have some people who don't have another holiday to do their grinding again, but if we take a look at official servers getting a compensation at all is already a huge thing. Anyone who's located outside of America/Canada had a regular work/school day anyways and will have it like that next week, too. If there was a more fair way to compensate things like that, I believe the mods would've already done that. Sure, giving a 24h 2x exp card to everyone would've been nice but I'd rather be happy for having something rather than nothing.

I think there should be a poll for people to vote as well. As glad as I am we even get a compensation there are lots of people who were online at the time being we were rollbacked for wouldn't benefit from this at all.

OffTopic; I don't see why people compare a p.server to the official server.

    People had something.

    They lost it.

    They want it back.

Compensation recompenses people for what they've lost, it doesn't advantage them.

It get them back to where they were.

    What's so difficult to understand?

But the majority of the people who were affected by it will not be able to benefit from it should the event be placed on a weekday. (Yesterday was not a regular weekday for ~75%+ of the players online; Thanksgiving in Canada, Columbus Day in the US)

This is why if an event is to occur as compensation for the rollback it would make more sense to hold it in a weekend with the same duration.

In the end it's up to the Staff; one can only hope that they keep the above in mind.

Life isn't always fair, neither are private servers. There is absolutely no way to simply satisfy everyone. There are ways to satisfy a major part of "everyone" but every action can ditch some people to dust. A little more understanding is what could potentially help people to get over some not-so-minor issues in a private server of a game targeted to 7+ years old children.

Edit: And indeed, it's up to the Staff in the end.

The idea of this compensation is to reimburse as much as possible, those who were directly affected by the rollback. If the best way to do it is by having a 2x period, then at least make that period at a time suitable for those being compensated. There's no point in making a 2x compensation period when half the people who the compensation is aimed at aren't going to be there for it. It isn't complicated, make the compensation period on another day.

Your logic is very inconsistent and I honestly have no idea what you are even trying to get across in this post you just made.

May I make a suggestion? Don't be stingy with the 2x event. Many people are upset from the rollback. In my guild there's a guy who lost 8 levels and he is so upset we may never see him again.

How about a 24 hour event on Sunday, all day. That way everyone will be able to play at some point during the day.

I mean, the server used to be 10x all the time, 24/7. Having 8x for one day won't be a big deal in the grand scheme of things and it would placate a lot of players.
