I haven't seen any Marksman with a perfect AUF helmet at level 200. Oddly enough, I only ever see them with Scar helmets, and many with Zakum helmets. I still have a lot to learn with Marksman. Are Marksmen really that rare?
as far as i know I'm the only one right now with an auf helm. there was someone else who had one before me but they got banned I'm also leveling a second mm now (lvl 195), so i might be the first person with two lvl 200 mms.... maybe mm is kinda rare but I've been seeing a few more ppl making them recently (and not just mules). I would guess it's similar to sair in terms of popularity
Well, one of my mains is a marksman. I was going to get auf helm. But then I got a godly clean zak helm and decided to scroll that instead
I have a Scar helmet and had to pay for service after reaching level 130. Unfortunately, I'm such a newbie that I used the 100% DEX +1 blue scroll (sorry, but the 60% RNG is awful; only getting a +3 or +4 is bad, I don't know why some Marksmen risk it). I see several beginner Crossbowmen with their Zakum helmets and they ask me how I got them. Scar helmets are very difficult to obtain. I told them to keep doing quests, look for easy-to-kill mobs, and that way you'll gain experience. When you reach level 110, focus on improving your gear in FM. Look in all the shops, vote for NX, and use the gacha to get CS and WS for a few mesos But if it's difficult, sell APRS. I've been on the server for 5 years, and this is the first time I've reached such high levels as 190 (I'm 191, it's crazy!). No other server has given me this ease of reaching the top. at that level that's so strange to me
I think MM are indeed rare, but I find MM pretty decent and fun to see ( don't have any bowman myself) Perfect auf helm is on a whole other level, you need time to grind and scroll. I think this is for all classes, but for MM probably the most grind to get it.
Back in 2018, I made a Marksman because I wanted to play niche/rare jobs, to see how they were like. She was my first main and I played so casually that I didn't even have cgs (eg. Pink Gaia Cape, Facestompers, etc). I got her to Lv. 140 with little leeching and no bossing. How I managed that is a mystery I'll never remember. I no longer play the character as I have since transitioned into a stinky Corsair, but honestly Marksman is fun! They're actually very good for solo play since they have a lot of built-in crowd control (puppet, and freezing, including a bird that does that for you). I also feel like their playstyle is way more interesting than the hold-down-Hurricane one Bowmasters have: Marksmen need to weave Snipe every few seconds, and they have a busted AOE move for large crowds (Piercing Arrow). I think the only reason why Marksmen are rare is because people just default to known jobs, and there's a lot more people who want to turn their brain off and hold one button rather than press two. (Sounds like Corsair! Oh wait...) Also, Snipe exponentially gets worse the closer you get to Lv. 200, since hitting the damage cap is rare at early 4th job, but an active detriment at late (since you'll be hitting the cap already). Honestly though, I am considering remaking another Marksman just to experience current Royals, since there's new endgame content compared to almost 10 years ago. End of the day, play what you like - both Archers honestly aren't all that different. Though, people will remember the Marksman but they won't remember the Bowmaster (btw, the likely reason why you don't see Marksmen with Aufs is cause a lot of people just mule their Archers, rather than play with them. Aufs usually get put onto the main funded attacker, I think. I haven't done Auf yet.)
Bowmasters wield fire, soul arrows, and an explosive arrow that stuns and deals critical damage in their second job. In their third job, they unleash a rain of arrows combining explosive and fire arrows, a puppet, and an eagle that must be leveled to 15 as a prerequisite for using Fire Phoenix. In their fourth job, there's nothing particularly noteworthy: concentrated bowmastery (more attack), the ability to slow enemies, Maple Warrior Sharp Eyes (what everyone in parties looks for in terms of damage buffs), the ability to hold down a button, and Dragon's Breath. In contrast, Marksman has different abilities in his second job, and it's tough until you obtain the Iron Bolt ability, which pierces through many mobs. He also has a soul arrow. In his third job, he gains the power of cold to freeze mobs (some, since some are immune), a puppet, an eagle (leveled to 15 to use Frostprey), downward arrows, and the only power that attacks four times with the crossbow. In his fourth job, he's very... Different The Marksman has Sharp Eyes Blind (my favorite skill, which reduces the accuracy of mobs and bosses by 30%), Snipe (a lethal attack), a harpoon that you have to hold down when the meter bar is red, then release it and it will do a lot of damage and has a brutal critical hit chance, Maple Warrior, Crossbow Mastery, and Dragon's Breath. Each one has its pros and cons, but I went with the rarest class on the server.
