I don't really know you Ashlee, but judging by the generally negative response from this thread, it was clear that your actions were not well-received.
You did achieve all your goals that you wanted, but at the same time, shattered the bridge of trust between the community, the staff. I won't exactly say that this is 'selfish' behaviour, but it certainly wasn't right. Making the community angry over your 'act' isn't right as well.
I personally believe that people can change. You could compare it to an undying river- always flowing, converging and diverging into two paths. At this critical moment, I believe that your path is about to diverge.
Sure, things of the past cannot be undone, but what is more important is the choices that you'll make at this diverging point. Would you want to stay overly-competitive, harming the relationship between you and others? I do not know. I- nor anyone else, has the power to control which path you choose to take. What I strongly believe, however, is that you can decide your own route. And I have confidence you'll choose the right route, whatever that may be.

To cut to the chase, LOL - justifying the blatant misuse as competitiveness is ridiculous, don't kid yourself.
I'm pretty sure I'll probably get some penalty for saying this - but wow @ the double standards... how was it that you got unbanned for hacking and everyone else who did so were told no unbans.

@Matt Considering the server's growth and increasing responsibility on the part of GMs, you should probably require a getting-to-know-you/interview via Skype before hiring. I'm sure it's a much better indicator of a candidate's strength than a written application anyways.

 

Not everyone will lie, cheat and steal their way to become a GM. Just tell the truth.

 

the bad thing about making up a female char and say you're a girl is that you cant never be yourself, you have to hide all the time who you are, and everyone else acts naturally, while the time passes that feelings make you feel the worst, because you are not making real friends, as everything is a lie, you are a fake person and no one really gets to know you well, unless you tell them the truth about you and be yourself, thats kinda what i felt 6 years ago when i did the same on GMS XD with different purposes though. I ended up revealing my identity too. After that i enjoyed more the game

regardless, staff shouldn't be hired based solely on a written application and reputation. a real conversation will give the staff a much better idea of whether the candidate would be a good fit or not. in the past many GMs have been hired because they have demonstrated (especially via skype) that they can communicate clearly and get along well with the existing staff. but considering how much the server has grown (50 online > 250 online), many candidates never have the opportunity to get to know the staff on a personal level and their applications are not seriously considered as a result. having a skype-conversation round to a large degree will give qualified (but unknown) applicants a real chance, while ruling out others (such as "Ashlee") who look good on 'pen-and-paper.'

Personally I'd prefer to trust people. But I wouldn't mind this either, I'm always willing to meet new people!

 

He never got unbanned for hacking. He convinced the staff he was playing from a public location to circumvent his old bans. The only sad part is that he got greedy/careless and fucked up. I'm sure this thread is a result of him being unable to cover his tracks and lie his way out of another confrontation, and coming clean before the Staff got a chance to bust him out.

 

This sounds about right.

Sounds to me that you're the fool along with 'plenty' of other people for being unable to read the original post where it says that after I failed at hacking many times (I think I made it to second job once mob vaccing..), I switched to the back up plan of making a legit female character (#seewhatididthere #pantiesinabunch #cardiobro #justagame). But I'm not here to justify this and really didn't want to leave this
comment, but I find it unfair and foolish to call out the GMs on something you believed was true but actually wasn't. Believe it or not, I really don't care. And making a fool of the entire server was definitely not my intentions nor do I think that's what happened. Like I also said in my original post, I had my own motives and my own ways of "winning" this game and that's what happened.

 

Did you really just hashtag that it's just a game? You of all people shouldn't be saying that considering how ridiculously far you went just to "beat" everyone else.
All you sound like is some conceited try hard that wanted to accomplish something for once because in real life, you amount to nothing.
