I have always been a fan of PQs. I've been vocal in the past about pushes to ensure that PQs are played more, from buffing current prizes, simplifying the Number Guessing Rooms, to additional enticing prizes in the Token of Teamwork prize pool. I have to admit that the 2x EXP has been a spark that has really helped PQs to be a lot more alive than they have been in the entire time I've been playing Royals. LPQ, OPQ, PPQ, & EPQ have almost way more active parties running it, or Smegas recruiting at all times of the day. People have even been running R&J. I feel like this change has been a net positive for the server and more importantly for newer players. I've seen this help the most with OPQ & PPQ, as it really gives players a path from 50-90 and gives them some reasonable gear as well. Given PQs taper off with EPQ early 4th job. I feel that this creates the nice level of entry level pacing and gets new players friends to keep them engaged in the game. Of course this is open to perception, at the very least I think OPQ has benefited from this change the most.
I feel like x2 is too powerful to be a permenent thing. But I think that either x1.5 or just make it a regular thing that happens in most evevnts might be really good idea.
Strongly support the suggestion, 2x tokens appeals to more funded/high lvl players while 2x exp appeals to lower lvl players. Win/win in my opinion and it can help balance the fact that almost everyone is just afk leeching which is boring...
It's a great opportunity to balance PQ's exp rewards. For the ones that are just TOO good maybe they should be buffed to 1.2x or something that feels rewarding for getting a party together. But for those quests, like R&J, that clearly no one does cause it's not worth it, those should stay at 2x or whatever is good. I do see party quests as harder content to put together, so the time that you take to get a party and do the dungeon SOMETIMES with people that are hard to carry should be rewarded. Solo content is there for when you want to login, do something 20 minutes without working on talking to people, and then get out.
@Apoc_Ellipsis you think you can turn this into a pool? Give players option to vote what they think? In my opinion it wouldn`t hurt to keep it all the time as items for tokens are mostly NX or useless stars/arrows/bullets. And the 2x exp would keep maybe new players a bit more motivated to lvl up and meet with new ppl...getting to 135 without getting leeched can take time and EPQ would be a great option for those who can`t afford the leech and would love to try eventually bossing from 135+ Happy mapling to everyone <3 Peace
I don't think I can retroactively add a poll That being said in my personal opinion. I think keeping the 2x exp is fine. After 11 years, players are a bit top heavy in terms of levels already, I don't think inflating a little between 30-100 is the end of the world. I think the double Tokens of Teamwork would be a good event bonus to keep things fresh, and should NOT be permanent. The quiet part I also want to mention is that when people are PQing they're not farming and adding mesos into the game. If I don't buy leech at 78 anymore, that's 2 hours someone isn't killing Harps and NPC'ing drops, if I'm at OPQ instead of grinding that's less clerics at MP3 or coolies making their 20-30m/hour of NPC drops. @weePat I got you a pool though
Although I generally agree with this idea, I think each PQ should have its respective EXP reviewed on a case-by-case basis. LPQ, for example, is currently giving too much EXP with the rate doubled. A single run was more than sufficient for leveling from 35 to 36 before the EXP was doubled. Also, I wanted to point out how great it was that the boosted PQ EXP diverted players away from CPQ which is, in my opinion, a toxic cesspool of pests and bullies. (I personally blame Spiegelmann for his shameful administrative practices)
Alternate proposal, bring this 2x event back regularly. I really enjoy running and leading OPQ but getting a party is hard, so this event was very nice and fun. It was so fun to interact with newer players and see them actually level every PQ, instead of people leaving because it feels very unsatisfying and unrewarding for the time. IDK if it’ll have the same response if it’s around all the time, but I do feel like bringing the 2x back seasonally would be nice. PQing and interacting with other players >>>>>> grinding away by yourself or buying leech
I want to support this idea. I have not been an active PQer as a recent late game player. I have started selling leech because it is the meta, not because it's particularly fun. I love that more people are running PQs and not just afk leeching. It is nice to see guild chat and smegas light up about PQs. People still buy leech, but a lot more people are running PQs than ever. I think the 2x PQ exp is giving more weight to the low level community and it is a good thing. I hope it stays. I might finally even level my bucc alt!
Heavy on this last part. New players get easily burnt out and lose interest when just starting because they're forced to solo grind and never interact with anyone else
I really don't think pqs need the 2x. 1.2-1.5 would be nice, perhaps for your first five pqs per reset. But I also think what would help is increasing the token cap per day to 4-5 runs. Some of us want to grind tokens
I instantly wanted to disagree, and I still do with the XP somewhat, but it really got me thinking. I think that a fun bump could be something like, you get 2x EXP for your first 3 runs and regular tokens for your first 3 runs a day, but you still get normal XP and 1 Token per run after your 3 for the day. Sometimes you just find a party that can just flow through a PQ and people stop after 3 runs or just switch to an alt. You can still make events fancy by giving double tokens and 2x XP on all runs not just 3. The big question is how valuable is a token of teamwork? The Cash Shop items are untradable, the Scrolls are plentiful for the PQ Items that usually you'd have extra, and the teamwork ammo is not economically feasible enough to grind for, besides you can just have alts run them. It's low effort to say create mules to HPQ/KPQ
I mean the 2x buff is making PQs competitive to leech exp. We could keep PQ exp where it is and nerf leech exp. Npcing from leeching is a straight up money printer
I almost suggested the 2x for your 3 token runs as well, but it just reinforces the 3x token runs and leave crowd more, which isn't useful for folks who want tokens rather than the exp, which is inevitable, therefore my earlier suggestion. Off topic--Pricing token items is not something I'm going to attempt. I personally grind tokens for spike scrolls. I'd rather them be a single item to grind for than gamble them all, to then gamble on a 10% scroll. I honestly hate the rando gach party box item, but that's how they decided to do it. This is again off topic but the token exchange has huge potential, folks should definitely brainstorm more token rewards, like tonics or chaos elixirs

I think keeping the 2x exp for tokens and exp is a great addition. However, the exp for LPQ would need to be balanced a bit, for CPQ to compete with it. Also to fix the text for the rewards. LPQ, OPQ, and RNJ have all the wrong numbers. And RNJ has a bug where you start with Juliet but end up at Romeo.
Honestly, I'd argue the CPQ just needs better prizes, imagine being able to use those coins for special cash shop items, untradable gear, or just even be able to scroll the necklaces for things besides HP. Hell I'd love if I could trade CPQ coins for Tokens of Teamwork or just also the PQ boxes. And pie in the sky.... Max HP/MP Potions for like 100 Coins or something
