    Protein is protein, unless you're a competitive level body builder. 30g of whey protein is going to take between 4 and 6 hours to fully digest. Casein 8 hours+. Eat a steak, take your fish oil (or other omega-3) and don't worry so much about nutrient timing (unless you're a competitive bodybuilder.) Many people, especially those that think they're lactose intolerant don't digest casein well. BCAAs are available faster, but BCAAs suck.

    You need saturated fat in your diet to some degree. It's only in sedentary people that there's a strong correlation between saturated fat intake and heart disease.

    BCAAs are expensive, taste horrible, and don't give any notable advantage over food or protein powder, unless you workout fasted.

    "suck" is strong wording. "over rated" or "niche" would have been a better term.

    I can live with overrated or niche in reference to BCAA's. Especially considering as you said they are quite expensive.

    About to go outside to do some near-nighttime parkour. It's always fun being a ninja. I just gotta get a ninja costume to stunt around in.

    It's so hard for me to gain body fat. The medication I HAVE to take to prevent my epilepsy from occurring causes me to have no apatite when I wake up. Marijuana usually helps it's pretty pricey to consume on a regular basis to keep my apatite up. Without MJ, I've lost 50-60 pounds of body fat in 1 month. NOT GOOD! (To some people this is glorious but there are serious side effects to fasting [this ranges from many things like diabetes or gastric ulcers]; I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND IT! Follow your diet! Exercise daily ect, ect.)

    No, with the type of medication he's talking about it really is that complicated.

    @JackDaneils keppra, by any chance? Or another similar drug?

    BCAA's are a must for fasted training and a great intra workout supplement. I take them intra workout every day in a shake with added glutamine and betaine.

    I agree, if you're doing fasted training they're fantastic.

    Intra workout.... most people's workouts aren't intense enough for that to matter.

    Personally I eat so much that I never feel hungry anymore and I struggle to maintain my mass/gain anymore.

    That's just obvious, everyone knows this. But when you have to take medication for medical conditions, it can cause side-effects. Mine is a loss of apatite. I try to eat, I feel sick then I stop. It usually goes away after 3-4pm, but that's no good.

    But the last time I listened to some one about not taking my medication, I almost died. Put your feet in my shoes and you'll know what I mean. I mean, if you want to live the longest then you gotta do what you need to do in order to do that.

    You could stop complaining and ask your doctor about changing medication for gaining weight.

    But it's not complicated, lol. I'm not sure why you guys are so mad. If you want to gain weight and can't due to medicine, talk to your doctor. If the doctor refuses and/or you can't get anything else to replace it, then just don't gain weight or do something else that'll make you bigger, like lifting.

    Depends. I had a cardio bunny gf once and she was the worst. Ate so terrible and was skinnyfat so it made me think bad of them for a few months. Other than that little thing I'd smash. But not bodybuilder level.

    Anyone have goal bodies and/or idols to fitness? If it wasn't obvious, mine is Arnold and Candito. And the one I actually can't stand is Scooby. Something about his attitude towards people like J.B and Jeff.
