Game Challenge: Ironman Mode (Solo, DIY - No Trading)

oh okay, sorry ill handle that tomorrow or someone else, way to late for me, have fun

 

So decided to make post when I'd have achieved something so here goes my 3 achievements:
1: I've collected all sap of the ancient trees I will need on this character \o/ never again will I be farming them.
2. Crystal ilbis are mine now and will be empty most of the time since I only have one stack of 'em.
3. Level 70 and Job advancement.

 

I reckon ironman challenge would be great when those quest specialist medals come out zomfgf3

 

I didn't know they said "I reckon" in Canada. I learned something today.

 

Sorry aboot that eh? Go hockey beers and polar bears eh

Oh wow, congrats!! Not quite the same thing, but yesterday I got my first White Scroll in a similar manner!

Great progress @Joong!

Nothing fancy, mostly doing Valentine Event's boss; I'm at my 29th try and still no ring, going for the jackpot!

And, uhm, more lame stuff:
- 116 / 75%
- failing and booming equips as usual (just boomed a pair of earrings with 70s yeee)
- Farmed 1400 ETC for the Silver Mane yo!
- ...Meanwhile still missing 3 Dragon Spirits for my scientific Dragon Weapon's crafting attempt (I'm at 27 Scale / 17 Spirits ugh)

 

When you have so many characters that you do not even know where your pickup key is located at.

Just made a character named: Lronic

It was about time!

 

This is a brilliant idea. I started an ironman character a few days ago and have had a lot of fun so far. Makes me feel this is how maplestory is meant to be played. Searching for equips on your own, killing mobs instead of browsing fm whenever you need something. It's really fun.

 

I get what you mean. Going Ironman really encourages exploration and self-learning.
At lower levels, and especially when you are still in Victoria Island, you may experience the feeling of a first playthrough, which can be really fun and refreshing. At least, this has been the case for me.

However, I am aware that as Ironman I purposely cut myself out from many “core” features of the game. But I feel we would enter in a perilous territory at this point. Ultimately, I believe that Maplestory and its meta may have equal weight, and people should be free to choose their own play style as long as they remain respectful of the Community.

 

Still having a lot of fun! Farming Cape STR at Torties and the lv. 64 maple bow at Sage Cats was only moderately fun though...
