You always find the Maple Weapons you don't need! It took me AGES to find the level 35 claw I got so many lama staffs and maple knuckles though, about 4-5 of each, before I finally dropped a claw.
I hadn't found any need to purchase any items from NPCs previously, but I had planned on purchasing a weapon to help me get to 43 until I managed to farm this: So, now I guess I'm joining the ranks of those who don't purchase weapons or armor from NPCs.

Welcome to the challenge! I have added all of you to the list @Dylanducki. We are discussing about doing GPQ relatively soon and in the future probably zak runs and El Nath PQ. It is possible for us to do this due to the fact that these events reward the players with unique skill books that are impossible to obtain otherwise. So yes, there will be bosses. It would be very cool if it was added officially. However I don't think it would be possible in Maplestory. If the mode was made official and thus rankings were to be added, GMs would have to wz edit to make it impossible for Ironmen to trade/pick up others loot/getting help on bosses/unable to party. I don't think that it is possible to add this to the game without having to rewrite the entire structure of how maple is built and on top of that, segregate all these changes to specific characters only. Not that I am very knowledgeable in wz editing but it sounds almost impossible to do.
Progress #7 Level 70! So this is my documented journey on becoming a Crusader This is the total amount of scrolls that I acquired levels 55 - 70 (4 of the GFA and some of the BW are from previous levels) And this was the best Maple Soul Rohen that I got (avg is 85 ish)
Level 43 (finally!) Which means - KANDAYO! That's all my achievements for now - I progress at the pace of a green snail
Milestone update! - Did some questing for the Icarus cape, got the avoidability version which is probably the best one for me once I max my haste anyway. - Slapped my Wagner straight on at lvl 43 and started hunting a Liu Bei Dagger at Showa 1, Extra A, B and jr cerebus map. only Extra A drop them though, obtained a cheeky pair of Whitebottom shoes, Found four of the Daggers (in about 3 evenings time) I was after in total, two max below atk, one average and this beastly specimen of 4 atk above average! - Checked out Paper Lantern ghosts as well since they drop them. Never got the dagger from them even though I got all other equipment drops at least 3 times each, one of them being the blue moon earrings. The plus side to this area was some nice end game loot that I stacked up, 5 of these bad boys!: Finally went from lvl 51-53 hunting some Glove Atk scrolls at platoon chronos. Managed to find the 4 Glove for Atk scrolls I needed (first one from NLC quest) and the keen eye should've already noticed the glow of my gloves from the first screenshot, 4/5 landed! Now the plan is to get some EXP gains at Forest of Golem until I have to hunt my next daggers for lvl 64, the Meso stack is also shaping along nice!
Let’s see, what did I end up doing today... I started out at level 27 this morning. Doing some painful grinding as a first job archer and a little bit of questing I managed to finally hit level 30. It pretty much picked up from there. Found myself a decent Maple Bow and then found a 63 ATT searcher which perfect regular stats without the godly system. I moved on to find some Overall DEX 60% (I couldn’t get everything in one screenshot because the way MACs take them is really weird.) Found two of those and then for those with a keen eye (stealing Tim’s phrase) you’ll have noticed I have a blue glove. Yeah, that’s nothing huge. JUST A 7 DEX CLEAN GLOVE FROM THIS AMAZING GODLY SYSTEM. I got so hyped, excuse me. Ended the day being able to equip my +3 above average Maple Bow. I’d say everything is going smoothly. On another side note, I have 816K NX now that I’ve been saving. I’m almost to my goal of 1M. Then I’m going on one of the biggest gaching spree’s I’ve ever done in my life!
Nice progress Just a note - you're not supposed to use 'old' NX on your ironman, just NX you earned post character creation.
I know ^_^. The NX I have currently is all going towards my main. I have no plans of using it for my ironman. Not even for clothes or pets. Though if I did, I’d only be able to spend 16K NX since making my ironman. If I do, I eventually might use it to buy a pet.
More updates! - Woop wooop hit level 34, with the same range of 8-68 heh really starting to feel the lack of firepower and accuracy right now heh. 10/30 Power Guard right now though - Did my 1st job advancement also; definitely did not take just over 3 hours, nor did I die once due to negligence Spoiler - Found a 10% shoe DEX scroll in my inventory and threw it onto my whitebottoms Spoiler I've some spare time this weekend, might go nuts and just go for level 41 and max Power Guard by the end of it!
since i don't have any character slots, is there a problem if i join with my lvl 43 sin? it's been a long time since the last time i played royals, but the ironman challenge really cheered me up
Another interesting thing I've just noticed: I have yet to trade or buy fame from anyone on this character (I can't do the latter anyway), but I've just noticed my character having 5 random fames. In addition to complete strangers coming up to me and getting hyped about the Ironman challenge with me, I really appreciate this
