Solved [Solution Given] Game Crash in Horntail

hello, recently I trying to get a htp.
2/5 runs fail because game crash while horntail is 10~30% hp left.
after some search, there are two method: VMware w/ XP & GFX
both methods are from years ago.

my question is: is these methods still being used nowadays?
if it isn't needed, is there any other methods to prevent crash?
