Closed Girlfriend permabanned for a character she doesn't have?

Because he played from that IP address in August 2014, so the IP address is in our ban list.

The IP ban is permanent which is why your girlfriend is affected.

Are you positive she isn't using a VPN or another proxy? Perhaps unknowingly?

 

After further investigation there's actually a lot posts about this "Neilson" guy. From what I can see he was a pretty big player back then. Did he really play from the EXACT same IP address as my girlfriends, even a year ago? She's lived at that house for over half of her life. If that's true, what I'm gathering from this is that because he was banned from that IP a while back, she's being banned for it now? And of course the question still remains how he even accessed that IP address. I'm sorry this is just really confusing. Can she even make a new account to play with me? Is she banned from playing on her own internet forever??

 

Ok sorry I posted my last post before I refreshed and saw your post, Daniel. I highly doubt she's using a VPN/proxy. I think she just connects to whatever wifi she has and played. From her words, "I'm positive that I didn't use a vpn or another proxy lol". Her wifi is even password protected. Whaaaaaat :/

 

Still, who is ClubFighter? Did this character play recently or was it on the same account as Neilson's? And why was that specific IGN named in the ban message and not ImNeilson?

Also if an IP ban is in effect, how could she have made an account and got it to 32 without getting banned and now she's getting banned?

 

She says:

"all the kids or ppl around my age are Korean, Filipino, or Chinese

and I doubt they play"

This is referring to her neighbors and possible people that could have used her wifi around her. She doesn't know of anybody that is French that could have accessed her wifi or played for prolonged periods of time to reach a high level.

 

Is this an ongoing investigation by the GMs or are my girlfriend and I going to be left hanging :/ I'm not trying to rush anything here, I'd just like to know what's going on

 

There really is nothing to investigate. Until we know why your girlfriend's account was connected to on the same IP as ClubFighter, there is no reason to unban the account. And before you speculate her account was hacked, I already checked into that and the MAC address associated with that IP when it logged in was the same MAC address used for the majority of previous logins. Basically, there is no doubt someone was physically at your girlfriend's computer and generated that IP address

 

Is there a possibility of her being on a VPN without her knowing? And I don't think she was hacked at all. The last time she played she had all of her stuff, and I'm not sure how much there is to take

 

Also does it say the physical location of the IP address? Not trying to disclose too much personal information about ourselves but we're from SoCal if that helps

 

Honestly this is the most confusing shit I have ever had to deal with in my maple life LOL we're both for sure that nobody else in her household played Maple Royals (again I know we can't prove that) and we found out about this PS like about a month a go. If there really isn't anything that we can do about this situation then I guess it's fine, and I appreciate the time that you guys took to look into the matter.
