I don't think Turkey Commandos would be a good idea on Maple Island. >_<

Would like to officially express my annoyance with this in the name of all small guilds who have no chance <3
People are literally leaving smaller guilds for the larger ones, which makes it even worse for the ones who stay.

If it's not too late, you should have every character assigned to a random team (let's say 10 teams or so), then have the top 3 teams win.

Yeah, I feel like the big guilds have a huge advantage, making smaller guilds, even if active 24/7 and turning in pies every 6 hours, have 0 chance to win.

They can always make pie mules and turn them in at Maple Island.

Nor is it possible, unless you want to get multiple islanders to level 30.

I didn't think that there would be such commotion over one single chair... Maybe we should make it so that the top 5 or all the top 10 get the chair? Unless anyone else has a better idea.

Everyone should get the chair if they reach a certain number if pies by the end of the event. That way, people will still have an incentive of making pies and late minute recruiting will be nonexistent.

Agreed. This will pretty much solve the problem, and people in small guilds or no guilds won't be trading in stuff just for a att pot

I agree with Matt. I never thought that a simple guild competition where the reward is a simple untradeable chair would cause this much issues. I didnt think it would cause people to leave their guilds solely to join the 'bigger' ones. I didnt think it would cause people to go out of their way and make a bunch of level 30s just to invite into the guild, make a pie and kick. I guess we all learned a lesson.

Overall I like Plenty's idea best. Maybe every guild that reaches a decent amount of pies (maybe 500 pies?) by the end of the event gets the reward. That way people actually participate and we dont have people making level 30 alts just to invite into the guild, make a pie, then kick from the guild...And we also dont have people leaving their guilds just to join, knowing they'll leave after. Because that's not the point of the event. The idea was a friendly little guild competition, to incite people to work together and give those inactive guild members a little something to help with. To bring guilds together within each other, not for them to split apart.

There's about 30 days (average) for the event, including yesterday. 500 seems like a decent number to reach without people doing the above ^, and with people actively trying to do it together. What do others think?

Before this disappears, yes I agree with @Goofy. Having Turkey Commandoes (and the Mum & Dad NPC of course) would be nice; we have a shot at getting the Pilgrim hat while it still remains a challenge for us. They can also only spawn in a specific map so non-islanders don't die frequently from stumbling into them. I really hope this gets implemented ><

500 seems fair. It's only been day one and I believe the pie ranking already passed 75+ pies. Getting 500 might be a stretch for some guilds, but less so for others.

I disagree. There is a LOT of excitement in my guild about this event right now, and a bit part of that excitement is the fact that it's a competition. The "guild pride" that this is generating has been fantastic for us. We just had an event where everyone and their dog picked up not one, not two, but FOUR chairs. I don't think a little exclusivity is a bad thing.

As far as small guilds.... well, joining/staying in a small guild is a choice you make, and choices have consequences.

    As someone who is currently part of a small guild (ever since I returned early Oct), I can relate to what Amy had said and give my opinion on this matter;
When I first heard of the Thanksgiving event, I was extremely hyped (as everyone was). I, probably along with many others here, fantasied our guild(s) getting the top 3 positions, and sitting on that 'exclusive' chair. When I went back to Royals, I immediately reminded anyone who was online in my guild to hand in their pies and attempt to get the chair. :p
However, to my frustration and annoyance, I realized that my dream will never come true, due to the small size of our guild (about 18 people). We were never going to stand a chance against all the big guilds. As mentioned above, many people had left their small guilds to join larger ones, so that they can actually have a chance in getting the chair. I think the main problem here, is that the chair is 'exclusive', in a sense that it is only limited to the top 3 guilds. And of course like everyone else, we all dreamed about obtaining that chair. We could sit on it in FM, brag (healthily) about how we were part of the guild that had successfully managed to get the chair, and ultimately there would be that sense of satisfaction. The sense of fruition after handing in the pies every 6 hours. That feeling when we managed to triumph over all the guilds. Who wouldn't want that?
However, reality check- this is only limited to the top 3 guilds! It puts all those who are in small guilds at a serious disadvantage. I think the Royals community is more competitive than we think- just look at the sheer number of people who powerlevel at such a rapid rate! So many people gach, so that they can earn more money and ultimately, survive better in the Royals world. I think the same logic applies here, in that everyone wants have this chair, so that they can be viewed upon better and with more respect (at first glance), and feel as though they are truly a part of the Royals community as they have accomplished this great task.
And the only reason why is because you know that your guild has the potential to stand a chance. Unlike our guild, we have practically given up on attempting to get top 3 positions. Is this healthy? Also, as a side note, a little 'guild pride' is always good, but a little too much is unhealthy. I think that this event is leaning towards the more unhealthy side.
Indeed, all choices have consequences. This is pretty much common sense and everyone knows that. However, by the way you word it, it seems as though you are implying that should we stay in a small guild, we should naturally deal with not getting the exclusive chair. But it simply is not that simple; I love being in my guild. I think most people also do as well. I want to have that chair- but do I really want to leave this guild which I call home in Royals for a social status? Verily, some people do. But I choose not to, because I love my guild. <3

My idea for this matter is to have different (pie) goals for each guild. For example, say XYZ guild has 30 people in it. Maybe, based on the number of people in the guild, we can give a goal accordingly. So, every person in guild= 15 pies (example), then XYZ guild needs 30*15 = 450 pies to get the chair!
Another example, ABC guild has 12 people in it. So, 15*12 = 180 pies to get the chair. I also propose that the guild needs to have a minimum of 10 people in it, to prevent people from creating a guild with them (or a few people) only in it and easily getting the chairs.

Please CAPCOM is not the biggest guild. I thought we would never have a chance being top 3. There have been a few people asking to join us because of the event and we have declined them because we want the original members to have the chair. We are just being efficient and time our 6h and each member uses all their lvl 30 characters. We HAVE NOT been making lvl 30 characters just for this event. I think changing this rule is unfair for those who actually have been trying so far just because other people are sore losers! I dont know about the other 2 top 3 guilds but we are not recruiting just for this event.
