@SamK saw your comment at ShoutBox about Royals client becoming smaller, you may try the settings from Step 3 to 7 to fix the client size
"Step 3: MapleRoyals folder > right-click MapleRoyals.EXE Step 4: Select Properties Step 5: Select Compatibility Step 6: Select Change high DPI settings Step 7: Scaling perform by: - Select System" Hi I was following steps 3->7 for fixing my client size being literally as big as my phone if I accidently shift+entered into fullscreen however this does not work anymore for the current patch. Would there be any suggestions what I could try? Edit: Patch 88/88.1 - fixed by playing with compatibility settings and changing full-screen to window in-game Patch 88.2 - fixed by uninstalling completely and reinstalling into a different folder (it seems this has to be done if you ever accidentally hit alt-enter on high-res monitors), previous methods do not work anymore
This method no longer works for the current patch I am waiting for new game files to drop to see if it's still possible to make the client bigger by windows scaling
For players that are unable to scale back accordingly after accidentally full screen, there's a temporary solution Temporary solution - shift the Royals folder to another location, or rename it such as "MapleRoyals" to "MapleRoyals1" folder - DO NOT full screen the game at all
It's working with the " Solution: re-name the Royals folder to anything else such as MapleRoyalsv2 or MapleRoyalss " just copied my folder and did the rename thank you kindly
This mostly works for me, but the chat box is very blurry and I have to strain my eyes to read it. Is there a way to make it crisp?
I was going to take one now, but I just logged back in... and the window size was back to normal. I tried to then redo the instructions, and this time it won't work?!
Nope, windowed mode. I tried restarting my computer incase that would help. I am absolutely baffled as to why it worked earlier, but not now! Gonna give resizeenable a go... Edit: Resizeenable is awful because so difficult to maintain aspect ratio
For others: it turns out that when I go into full screen mode, this completely kills it. In order to then reset it up, I have to rename the folder again (and redo the windows defender exception as well). I might look into it a bit more when I can be bothered. But I think what has to be happening is that when you change the resolution or size settings in game, some setting is being written somewhere, that overrides the DPI trick. Changing the folder name then means that it cannot find this setting, as it must be using the full file path. A more effective solution than renaming the folder would be to try and figure out where this setting is getting written to, and erasing it somehow.
Hi! I was fiddling with things trying to get the window resizer to work and it was quite frustrating, then I remembered I used another program in order to make Borderless Fullscreen work on some other retro games. If you follow this GitHub repo and download the exe, then run the installer bordeless fullscreen should work : https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases/tag/9.5.6 It works on my Machine after clicking the maximize button on the mr.dll file. If you do not trust the github repo, you can also buy BorderlessGaming on steam (I don't really know why you'd do that when its free on the creator's repository lol) Happy MapleStorying !
Someone has found the exact settings via [Registry Editor], I have included that in the initial post However, please be very careful when changing the settings via [Registry Editor]
Have informed the Devs about the new fix above, as it may help them to figure out what went wrong However, due to the current situation, they are prioritizing getting the server up and stable
