tmj is correct. this misunderstanding seems to be common, so I'm going to go ahead and bold that passage.
Ohhh, okay, now I get it. It took me reading your post a few times, but it finally clicked. So what it means, is for a DK if I add my needed INT between the levels of 1-47, which is 30 INT, that is all I add, just the 30. No more when I get to higher levels etc. But if I wait and don't add INT until say level 48, then I will need 40, but once I have the 40 I still don't add more, that's all I need. Thanks for helping me clarify this guys
In light of the new changes to Horntail, I believe the new minimum HP value will have to be revised. Is it 9k magic damage now? What a pain...
@Gossamer Can your target HP formula still work to determine the amount of INT you need for 9k HP? Or is the entire formula different?
Everything is the same. It looks like people will have to MP Wash from here on out, though. So I'm working on a more comprehensive guide, atm.
Can you help me understand your formulas? I'm trying to calculate INT required to reach 5600 HP for archers at level 155 starting from level 10 and I keep ending up with 250 required INT.
9k magic damage now? what does dispel even do? How is any ranged class supposed to survive? I've calculated i would get 5.6k hp by 155 but what now? I can't start over
You can still survive with 5.6k but, you have to start over if you don't have a DK in your party. Wash earlier and use your current account as a mule or something. Fact.
You should still survive with HB (like before). Now you're just at the mercy of the DK to rebuff quickly after mass dispel or you die though.
Do you think people would actually invite players with less than 9k HP and just rely on a DK to rebuff after mass dispel? I'm asking this because I have no chance of reaching 9k HP even at level 180.. I just want to know if I have any reason to rage or not lol.
I personally don't know if it's too much to ask because I don't have much experience with HT. In theory I don't think it should be, but maybe someone else can give a better answer.
This guide has been updated to account for the addition of Mass Dispel to Horntail. It now reflects the need for 9000 HP, and thus, now includes MP Washing. Feel free to ask me about my calculations.
Beignners get the same terrible return as Gunslingers, AND use twice as many AP Resets than them. On top of that, they only get 14HP per level, naturally. So washing them would be PRETTY expensive. If you tell me the HP you wish to reach, ill let you know what to do, and how much it would cost
Oh geez. It's okay. I was just curious. I'll never have enough funds for it. xD Also, during MP washing as an assassin, when you use an AP reset to remove MP, do you put the point you remove into INT to gain more MP, or put into LUK?
This is something that some of the other guides tend to make confusing. I like to split everything up into different processes. This equation that I have... OptimalINT = 10*SqRt(MPNeeded/11) It returns the INT you should use for MP Washing that will require the least amount of AP Resets. Going above that OptimalINT value is silly. Because you end up spending more resets by removing the INT at the end, than it saves you by having more INT while MP Washing. So, if your optimalINT is 140, like for Assassin Horntail washing, going above 140 would be counter-productive. And since getting your INT to 140 only takes 28 lvls, and since you ought to be adding your INT as early as possible, you should be at that OptimalINT by lvl 50, for sure. That would leave 105 lvls for HP and MP Washing, which is plenty. The only time you would ever have to combine MP Washing, and adding you INT, is if your OptimalINT is like 300 INT or something, and you're not going to have enough lvls to HP Wash and MP Wash before your goal. Or, if you're trying to smash the whole process into a shorter span of levels. So it depends upon personal preference and the calculations you make yourself. Therefore... When MP Washing, if you need more INT to hit that OptimalINT lvl, then by all means, remove that MP point and put it into INT. If you are already at that OptimalINT value, then adding more into INT will only cost you more in the future. So if you add that point into INT, you're just bridging your adding of INT together with your MP Washing, which is actually more costly. Of course, it's better to wait to MP Wash until after you have all the INT you want. But if you have no choice, then you can merge them together. So... if you were planning on adding more INT during that lvl anyway, then add that -MP into INT. If you were planning on adding more LUK during that lvl anyway, then add that -MP into LUK. MP Washing is just a step you insert into your normal lvling process. Make sense? P.S. This is all concerning Raw INT. INT from equips is its own, separate thing, that just builds MP without any recourse. INT Equips can be sold later for the same price, so they're just rentals. And you don't need AP Resets to reset anything out of Equip INT. They're just there to buff up your MP Gain.
