Lets look at this positively in the long run instead of personal earning, but the new playerbase in a buyer’s perspective.

Moving to the buyer point of view really wants the price to be affordable, just like how cs/ws 300mil or even 12mil AP reset prices is an long awaited thing and feedbacked by majority of the feedback requests, simply easier progression and chances to interact with veteran players.

If i recall even veteran players always wanted Cs/Ws to be returned to 300mil, rejoice! The day has come.

With these changes theres no doubt where prices of other items will be required to make adjustments.

Will 200mil the new stable price?
Will the new prices be beneficial to the community where the new players manage the market better incomparison to 3months ago?

Everything else as discuss seems like an conclusion of an solution of it being freemarket and i’m sure all who suggested might respect the decisions.

It will be painful for us Horntail Host for sure, but who knows it might turn out for the better where buyer will still promote more runs, and therefore with better book prices.

Oh well I wasn't aware of that, and I'm not part of agreeing that. I really want all of us to have a good conclusion.

But yeah, it's a game we all should have fun and play, so don't take shyt seriously o.o

This is the second MoN I looted. I reckon 8 STR/ 10 DEX/ 8 ATT has got to be better than an average HTP. 23 DEX/23 STR isn't even that good. In addition, this has a nice speed/jump/HP bonus, compared to the very bland HTP.

Also, CWKPQ runs are free to go on. Who wants to risk paying 800mil for an HTP and not even getting a good one?

That's really lucky, so to give a less biased perspective of MoN, I have looted at least 80+ times and have gotten only 3WA and 5-6 stats max. Still, it is indeed free (800m is a lot of money to me), you get decent exp out of the bosses, and it is easy to do. The hardest part is just to recruit 10 people, and with guildmates, mules and smegas it isn't that hard.

What I'm gonna say next might make a lot of veterans unhappy, but I feel that HTP has a lot of elitism going on around it, with people getting uptight about the prices of this and that, a high entry barrier where you must have blablabla range as a (insert job) or gtfo noob, and it's being treated as a luxury good while cwkpq is pretty carefree, just need to preferably have decent range and above, and finish the prequest. The whole feel surrounding it is different. That being said, I do agree that Horntail is an end game boss, and players should be rewarded accordingly for upgrading their gear and meeting the requirements to do HT efficiently.

Lastly I just wanna say the whole 200m HTP service/60m Zak Helm service is nothing short of a childish retaliation at the people who keep bringing up "Free Market!!" in this thread. Eventually HT/Zak runners would drop, supply of service decreases and eventually buyers would want to pay a higher price for these services. Are you guys going to stick to 200m/60m up till the end just to prove your point? I may not know how to Horntail but do you guys even Econs?

Undercutting the market for less profit or even a loss is a real pricing strategy used by businesses that make up for it in other areas. There's more to economics than just supply and demand. In this case they're selling at this price to cover the cost of the run and make actual profit with books.

So what that you looted a godly MoN on your second try? It's not like everyone has the luck to get what you have right now. People could spend hundred runs and still dont get a decent item from the bosses, but some people could get godly item even on the first run. It's all depends on luck.
Also, MoN are usually not as good for the mages comparing to the HTPs. You getting a good MoN doesn't mean everyone could too. I've personally gotten a 8/8/8/5 Krex ring on my 6th run, but other people done more than 100 runs but still not getting a decent one. Or one of my friend actually got a decent one after he reached 200. Please don't simply put the RNG on what we're trying to achieve here, it might apply but I personally think it doesn't.

I mean we would always try to look for buyers when we do HT runs, but it's not like we're not going to do the run without a buyer. It's also the buyer's choice to buy the HTPs service, every looting process is a risk, just like everyone relooting the Zakum helms. Its just that Zakum helms service is cheaper because the time is shorter and cost to be used in runs are lower.
For HT, as regular HT runners, we all know that using Onyx Apple is one of the basic attack pot we use during the runs other than just heartstoppers. Runners are hoping to cover their cost from the split from the buyer(if they get one), in case there's no valuable drops from the run.

It's literally almost the same method as how we're selling Zakum services, to make some extra money or cover pot costs.

Assuming that they are not intending to make losses, that would mean the prices of skill books sold by them would rise. However, with other HT runners selling their services at let's say 600m, and skill books at normal prices, it would be hard for them to sell the skill books at a higher price.. is what I think, but as my knowledge of economics does not go beyond what is already commonly known, I do not want to act like I know a lot~

In any case, if this low price services is not done out of spite but rather a new strategy, new players benefit, veterans make money, and everyone is happy because it's the free market after all! 0:)

What was the point of this discussion if you were just going to drop the price to 200mil.

After things didnt go their way in this discussion, then yes. Childish tactic if you ask me

If “it’s a free market” then what they are doing is identical to what the players charging 600m down from 1b are doing. Dropping the price by 400m to attract more buyers to their runs. It doesn’t work both ways, you can’t apply the “iTz a fReE mArKeT” argument to support the players dropping the price from 1b to 600m but claim it is childish when other players drop it from 600m to 200m. Either dropping the price to get yourself/your crew more buyers is childish period, or it’s not. It’s not acceptable when one crew does it but unacceptable when another does in response to the first crew. Think of it like when a mobile phone provider creates a seasonal plan that’s far better than what their competitors offer, and in response those competitors create one even better than that to offer. Either both parties are wrong for trying to undercut one another in an attempt to attract buyers, or neither of them are—they’re both doing the same exact thing.

I can't really say what their thought process was behind that thread is since I haven't really been actively playing for a while now. Personally, I feel like if I'm getting so little splits from the natural market price and no one in my party needed reloots, I wouldn't mind just giving out free HTP (basically free just covering pot cost) and just doing some good for the community. If it's not profitable, and I'm doing it anyways might as well make it a charitable act. Doesn't seem like a "childish tactic" to me since it literally accomplishes nothing mentioned in the thread.

The 200mil HTP thing seems like a bit of a scorched earth policy actually. A bit of a fine-then-we-will-undercut-you-all-big-time-as-you-won't-cooperate-with-us. The action itself isn't necessarily childish (it's a free market after all!) but perhaps the reasoning behind it is a bit childish.

I suspect most other HT runners couldn't care less though. Definitely good for the buyers :)

But didn’t they undercut them by the same amount?

    1b->600m by group 1
    600m->200m by group 2

I think you may have misunderstood this whole "free market" situation. In context, it was used simply as an argument against the idea of price fixing and collusion as there are more than enough sellers that creating a monopoly would be impossible. Originally, the reasoning for dropping HTP prices to 600m from the current 800m is to follow the trend of the market as many factors have played into the decline of demand. It is evident that whatever caused the drop in demand be it lack of population, NX bonus, other alternatives, that selling HTP services at the same price while everything else was dropping was unwise. In other words, I am justifying lowering the services to 600m to combat said issues and NOT because this is a "free market" and I am out there looking to undercut other players.

Now in regards to what OP has done and selling their own services at 200m, I'm not sure if people care enough or just batting an eye but it is clearly out of spite and childish as some have said. They are using the argument that it is a "free market," which I am not denying, to justify dropping it to 200m even though they were adamant that it being sold at 600m was barely profitable.

In the end it is a free market and people are free to do as they wish but dont get it twisted that both parties are doing the exact same thing here.

In absolute numbers, yeah. Percentages are quite different, a drop of 40% vs 66.6%.

Yeah they're probably just trying to piss everybody off. Cause people were like get over it, it's a free market when they said the HTP's should be 800 mil. So they're really testing it and now trying to make everybody be like THAT NOT FAIR"in response to their 200mil pendants so that they can turn around and be like "I thought you said it was a free market!".

Like I said, the childishness isn't the action itself, but it's the reasoning I think we all know is behind it. This post from earlier shows their thinking behind it all.

And of course people were like yes its a free market. They had wanted people to say it wasn't fair.

Like I said, scorched earth policy. Textbook example of it.

So you weren’t getting enough buyers at the initial market price, and dropped your rates in an attempt to re-attract buyers to your runs, right?

By doing so, you made it so that the other groups who were charging the initial market price were then getting even less buyers.

So what did they do? The same thing you did.. lowered the price further to re-attract buyers to their runs.

Ultimately it is the same thing. People weren’t buying HTP from you at the initial price, so you lowered it. Due to you lowering it, other groups were getting even less buyers at the initial price, so they lowered it further.
