Quest Increase the cap of Reuel's New Elixir of Life

    I think DK mains play DK because they enjoy the challenge and would resent changes that try to cater to them by making it easier to zerk. Hero is there for a warrior who doesn't need to zerk...

    not sure if this has been suggested in the past, but i think this would be really fun for friends who are doing HPQ and want the MMO aspect: if you talk to ruel in a party of 2 or more, you get a party sized HPQ option. you both get the same quest, but ruel just wants more quest items than usual, and you are rewarded with slightly better potions.

    it could incorporate the "active" party mechanic for the drops, to avoid mule abuse. could also reward 1(+?) ToT per day?

    sorry if it's been suggested before. it's pretty boring doing it solo all the time. this would encourage friends and more group questing, and they all go to the same place instead of solo random areas, with extra HP as incentive.

    Heck yeah. I would have loved this kind of thing when I was farming HP pots years ago. One of my brothers was trying to get more HP around the same time, and I could hardly ever help because our HP quests almost never lined up. Partying up would have made the experience feel less like a chore.

    I have stopped playing many times because of how much I dread the feeling of being "forced" to meta-game (hp wash/reuels), especially since I don't have a lot of time to play. And I have spoken to many people who share similar feelings about how annoying it is to jump through these loopholes every time you want to make a new character, and I have encountered many newcomers who stopped playing the server because of these reasons as well. This is why what Cooler said previously in this thread really resonated with me:

    Having small HP rewards peppered throughout the regular content of the game -- PQs, regular (difficult/long) quests, lower-level bosses and area bosses, killing lots and lots of regular mobs in each continent -- would help to mitigate the fact that grinding out Reuel's is just not fun (for most people at least). Looking at Zancks' example in his previous post in this thread, very roughly we can see that (for a ranged attacker) we get ~5k hp from natural leveling to 175, ~5k from "organic" content (medals, events, eqps, olaf, etc.), and ~5k from Reuel's (these are "lowball" estimates). If there were an additional, say, 1-5k HP available through other difficult/challenging means, or even temporary HP buff potions that are costly to acquire, this would further allow for newer/unfunded players to break through certain ceilings without making it easier for them or reducing the time it takes to get to higher HP, while at the same time encouraging participation in a variety of content.

    After re-reading what I've written so far, I've realized that my biggest problem with Reuels is the quest variety. Doing virtually the same quest every time makes one prone to burnout from the grind imo. If instead there was a greater variety of quests that could take us through a lot of different content, it would make grinding reuel's much more palatable (for me at least).

    Reuel's now has a 30 quest rotation, which means even top questers will be doing each quest most likely ~20 times at most, and for the average player maybe 10 times max, which feels reasonable. Also, with you talking about 1-5k extra HP - have you heard about the olaf questline, which gives an additional 3k? That sounds very similar to what you're asking for.

    Yes but every single quest has the exact same formula: go to these places, kill the mobs, collect the drops, go back and repeat . I find it becomes so tedious that it makes me want to stop playing, and indeed it has in the past (in general super grindy stuff has made me quit before, like selling leech for example). I just wish I didn't "have" to spend what little time I have during the week on these kinds of things. I would prefer to "grind" other content like PQs/bosses in order to progress to a level where I can do the higher HP stuff. But perhaps this is asking for too much.

    After reviewing some of the patch/update notes and going over the various HP sources I realized that some of my concerns may have been uninformed. It does seem that there is a sufficient amount of HP to be gained from regular content and not just Reuel's quest, and indeed I am now looking forward to doing all of that stuff while I work on my new (unwashed) bm. That said, I do think Zancks' thoughts about the HP threshold are quite valid, and that the current threshold mechanic somewhat clashes with HP washing since it considers unwashed MP in the calculation -- a more synergy between the 2 HP sources would even it out a bit.

    But also, I think OPQ, RJPQ, and Ariant PQ rewards still might benefit from an even greater buff (HP or otherwise), if only to improve participation in them (I can't recall seeing even one R> smega for them since starting to play again in the past month, and I've never even done Ariant PQ). But this is a somewhat different conversation.
