Introduction My favorite Maplestory time was always v001 to v39, there is to my knowledge no 3-4x server that offers this so I’m crafting it here in MapleRoyals. This will be a very very slow journal since I do not game very much but for those who enjoy reading it, here’s to a new start. Note MapleRoyals is too custom to 100% align this with what it was like in 2006 so take it with a grain of salt. This isn’t meant to be perfect, it’s purely nostalgic. 35-40 Journal I’m not yet at the point where strategizing is very important since I’ll save most scrolls until 80+ anyway. Although the challenge of sub-optimal maps is weirdly more fun than going to the same spots just because they are OP. Warrior is a very slow and awkward class at those levels because it’s so gear dependent. Spear Mastery definitely helps but at this point in time I’m not yet scroll hunting, instead I find myself killing time through questing hoping to get to a level where I can use my Impaler. I will not be using any spear scrolls on any Spear except for the Omega Spear since level 80 isn’t that far away, and as a part of this challenge it’s technically the best Spear I can get other than Fairfrozen which requires Zakum. The Sky Ski is not available to me as I restricted the maps I can get it in through gachapon. 40-45 Journal Decided I’m going to throw out the Impaler. I found out that the Impaler mathematically is better than the Omega Spear which ruins the point for me. The Omega Spear is supposed to be my end weapon given that the Fairfrozen is only attainable through zakum. So new rule: No Maple Weapons. I’m definitely starting to feel the slowness of the suboptimal maps, it’s probably half as slow if not slower compared to optimal maps that aren't allowed in this challenge. I’m expecting things to be a little more comfortable at 55 when FoG becomes viable. Been farming Ghost Stump to get Overall armor for dex hoping to keep my DEX base low in order to stay strong hoping to get some more in Gachapon at 50 to make a nice overall. When going for bonehelm, I’ve always assumed this was going to take thousands of kills, but I literally got one in less than 50. Happy I can rock the bonehelm aesthetics either way. The next focus will be to continue at Platoon Chronos for maybe 5 whole levels due to GFA60% and Serpent’s Tongue dropping there. I’m hoping to find at least a 75 attack within those five levels. GFA is tempting to use however it’ll be much better once I find godly gloves with accuracy so I’m holding on to it. 45-50 Journal I got decently lucky with Gachapon (roughly 100 tickets). Gachapon feels like cheating because I’ve been incredibly lucky to hit 8/10 scrolls on my overall (one of which 10%) and I’m only level 50. I honestly expected this to be far after level 120. But then again, it’s only 1 peace of gear out of the many. I decided on not scrolling anything else unless I find godly gear over time. The lack of sufficient damage at mobs my level motivated me however to scroll at least this overall. 50-55 | The march of the zombies It’s been nothing but zombies, I decided these levels I wanted to speed up the process because all I can think of is finally using 3rd Job skills and move to deep ludi. It might be my last update for 2 weeks since I’ll be heading on vacation soon but we’ll see. I don’t have any exciting news this time except for that zombies are great for raw mesos and will be funding a lot of TP rocks later down the line that were initially bought with NX that I am now out of.
