Just like Rob said people have complained about smega spam which is why the toggle option was implemented in the first place. Because of other people spamming many have turned off smegas in chat which decreases the chance of potentially finding a customer for you merchandise/services or reaching out to more people across the server. People have yet to complain about the downside with the toggle option because the upside is better than the downside. I am just suggesting another possible way of handling smega spam this includes item smega if it gets implemented. Item Smegas are still a type of smega that could possibly spammed if you acquire enough of them. Otherwise a toggle item smega option wouldn't have been brought up if not for the possibility of it being spammable. Don't think it will be needed since you will have to trade in a coulpe of smegas to obtain an item smega.
Like I said, that's the risk people are going to have to take when using an Item Smega. You're also looking at this like Item Smegas will only be used to sell items which isn't the case. Most of the time, I can imagine people just showing off equips that they scrolled or obtained. Sure, Item Smegas can be spammed, but people don't usually spam regular Smegas all the time. I personally have 1200+ in my inventory and sold just as much yet you don't see me spamming to high heaven. This issue will be even less so because they will obviously be much more rarer than regular Smegas.
That is not true. I have mentioned that it will be used for showing off equips as well in my earlier posts.
