Personal Opinion of me If ppl want to be in a map and share with others, they just can talk to ppl visiting the map and say they may join. There no rule change neccesary for this since Maplestory has a chat tool and ppl can make own decision.
I personally do not like this idea. If we make say, CC1 (or the hypothetical) CC9 a free-for-all channel, then no one would ever train there. Yes, it does bring back the old memories of HHG. Yes, it brings back nostalgia, for most of us. But the question is: Is it worth it to create more trouble in exchange of the nostalgia? Doing this will make CC1 devoid of people training; it will become a messed up channel, so to speak. And all the people would then go to CC2-8 and those channels would be overpopulated. And if you ever train in popular spots (GS2 for example), you cannot train in CC1 without fear- you would be training in fear that people of a higher level will KS you. You would be training in fear that your map would be gone. Of course, CC9 is another option, but it's not really worth the hassle for the staff, really. If someone asked me, "Hey, do you wanna share the map?" I'll gladly agree most of the time. If someone asked me, "Hey, can I borrow your map for a few minutes?" I'll gladly agree as well. Of course, they may break their promise and stay there for a longer time then what they said, but this would be another case already and is not relevant to the topic. Just my two cents.
Now Manezu, that was over exageration. Of course there would always be someone there. If people are nice they could come to ch1 and help lower levels. Just wanted to point out that there are about three maps that actually fill up constantly, being GS2, Skeles and... to be honest, I can't even recall another one being out there. Having an FFA Skeles map would probably bother more people than it'd help; coming with being a high level tends to be some level of respect for your fellow. I can't remember the last time I got a KSing call and found it was at Skeles. As for GS2, yes, I understand that it's the BEST place to level in most cases, but it's far from the ONLY place. GS5 exists as a slower but identical in map design alternative, then there's Vanished Village for linear classes, FoG for AoE classes, Book Ghosts if you want to be obscure, and Coolies have increased spawn (or so I've heard) so they might be a good option now too. All I see coming from this is loads of reports from players that don't know about the FFA channel rule because they're upset they're getting KSed, and then get more upset when they leave and find there are -no- other maps (because all the others are full, else this wouldn't even be a topic). If you want to have a KS war with your friends, find a place that people don't use for training. 80% of the maps in this game never even get used anyway.
