    I'm going to go semi-rogue for this post because the whole pattern dance make a bit of difference. I pulled this directly from the home page of this website. I am not claiming the following text as my own work and give full credit to the Maple Royals staff. With the legal mumbo-jumbo out of the way now I can continue.

    Please note the bolded, italicized, underlined, and red colored text. If you can read English or manipulate Google Translate you can see that it says something along the lines of "our server is superior because there is no lag, ever."
    No, I do not have a technical knowledge of server maintenance, but I do have common sense. I understand that it may be difficult to maintain such a large and diverse server and that sometimes hiccups may occur, but it is tough to believe that after 3-5 days of heavy lagging and constant DC-ing that seemingly no attention is being paid by the "engineers." The messages scrolling across the top of the screen have been a nice gesture, but they have not even remotely addressed the issue. If I wrote a reply on this page every time I lagged or DCed I could probably take up 5 pages by myself. Imagine if the other active members did the same thing. I know without a doubt that I am not the only one with these issues, just read the SMegas running through your chat box.
    Sila is the only GM I have ever seen online save the one time there was an Event. She's helped me with any and all problems I have encountered, so I thank her for her help.
    I could find better GM assistance on Classic Maple Story, and we all know how they're doing right about now.

    So where is your trace route for the 5 days of insane lag? Also iv been on the last 5 days ALOT and havent experienced any sooooooooo its probably just you. I understand your upset but dont need to be a dick. The staff here is pretty helpfull, im sure even after your rude comments they will still try to help you. Luckily im not a gm, because id tell you to go fuck yourself.

    No clue what a tracer route is, im just letting you know what ive experienced. And maybe you're one of the lucky ones. A vast majority of my guild-mates and people on my buddy list have the same issue. Also, please read the other forum member's comments in the shout box, many refer to lagging.
    If you think I'm being a dick then Canada really is as soft as popular culture portrays it to be.

    Just wanted to say this here before it gets derailed further- We're aware of the lag issues that have been happening, and we've all been trying to get it fixed. We've been in constant contact with the server host (LSN), constantly trying to get small adjustments made to see if it helps any. It has improved over time, but some things still need to be worked out. Also, I might be more 'visibly active' because I essentially have no life and spend most of it on the computer currently- but the other staff are just as active and helping solve issues too.

    If you keep experiencing lag issues, please do post MTR logs and any info you can provide about it. The same goes for anyone- just because others are experiencing the lag too, don't assume they'll post an MTR. More than one never hurts- in fact it can only help. Sometimes patterns can creep up.
    Edit: Read Matt's first post here on this thread for an explanation of how to get a trace route. MTR = trace route.

    To those who have been providing MTRs, thank you. To those complaining and mocking the "features" of our server, it is certainly not appreciated. While I can understand your frustration, if it would make you feel better, I can generate a multipage PDF of the tickets outlining correspondence that Amy, Matt, Kat, and myself have had with the staff at Limestone Networks (LSN). We have talked with Support Technicians, Datacenter Managers, and Network Engineers. They have been relatively good at providing answers and different solutions telling us to "try this".

    Yesterday afternoon, a new Network Engineer tried yet another adjustment on the server filter and asked that we evaluate that one. For several hours no lag occurred and there were no reports until I woke up and saw these this morning. I immediately sent the MTRs off to LSN in a ticket and hopefully we can further troubleshoot and find out our options. It's a frustrating experience for everyone, but negative feedback with no constructive criticism accomplishes absolutely nothing.

    The reason why it's good to post an MTR or Traceroute here is that it gives us information that we can send to LSN. They can then use this information to work out where and (and hopefully what) the problem is. The following is a very rough explanation as to what packet loss on different parts of the MTR/Traceroute mean:

    I had experienced no lag throughout the last two weeks of playing, even didn't crash at zakum, but as soon as I made a new character, the server just flat out hasn't been playable, not saying this out of spite but as feedback. Below is the MTR, but I think I should have let it run longer, I was definitely seeing worse than 100 ping spikes, but you get the idea hopefully.
