Make Balanced Fury rechargeable in all shops

    I'd say since the +4 attack arrows are only available in CwK/Showa we might as well keep the weird NLC only recharge feature.

    Yes I am quite aware as I am not a penny hoarder and always have a fast pass on hand. If one could easily carry around 20 sets of Bfury this wouldn't be a problem, however recharging stars is something a NL has to do multiple times per day. You say 3 mins as if that is nothing, however going from el nath to victoria island isn't the only time people use tp rocks and there's a reason for that.

    Well, I am playing NL only and while it was anoying in the beginning, it's really not a problem for me to go there and recharge anymore.

    Ok let me reiterate this in a simple form since people keep mentioning diamond arrows despite the reasons I've laid out:

    Why Diamond Arrows are not Comparable to Balanced Fury's in this regard:
    - Red/Blue arrows from Showa give the exact same stats. Showa is accessible from every single continent and you can use a town scroll to get there instantly once you enter mushroom shrine from virtually any town. NLC on the other hand is not accessible from every continent and not even instantly accessible from victoria island. This alone makes diamond/red arrows incomparable to the annoyance of having to recharge Bfuries. But theres more below.

    - You can easily buy 20 stacks of these arrows without any significant cost while Bfury (in case you did not know cost 1.5b per set). A single set costs as much as 75 Million diamond arrows, so its not an easy task to get a boatload in one go like you can with arrows. Hopefully no one is planning to tell me to "get gud" and spend 30b & 20 inv spaces for a measly 1 atk.

    - With a mule you can hold 96 sets of arrows and they only have to go one way: from mule to character. Bfury on the other hand has to go 2 ways which is twice the work and if it is not clear already recharging Bfuries is an exponentially more reoccurring task than recharging arrows. So its 2x the work and 3x as often for Bfuries opposed to diamond/red arrows. Not to mention that each set of arrows is 2000 whereas stars are 1000.

    - Bfury requires a lvl 37 assassin mule whereas arrows can be done by a lvl 7+mule of any class. Bfury requires a much more dedicated mule and again it's for something that already takes 2x as much work and happens around 3x as often.

    Trivia and Tips
    Balanced Furies, which give a heft 30+ attack, can be proclaimed as the strongest stars in the whole game.

    Though it's strong, it's not easy to make, as you need to be funded and at least level 85 to kill typhoons for the feathers. You also need the 3 Tao's from CWKPQ or the box event from last year.

    The throwing stars are about 75-80 million for one pair, but it's cheaper to make it yourself.

    150 black crystals for 400k each= 60million 3 Tao's(If got by yourself)= Free Typhoon Feathers= Free

    As you can see, this would save you a good 15-20 million.

    Also, these stars usually were 30 million because they weren't able to be recharged from anywhere except for New Leaf City, but due to a recent update, they can be recharged anywhere, and hence the price went from 30 million to 80.



    I used to use Balanced Fury's in GMS right when Aran just became available and at the time when I played I don't recall ever having this limitation with these stars. Now that GMS likeness is out of the way, is there any reason to still keep this around?

    We are already paying a ridiculous 6x the price at 1.5b PER set for a measly 1 wpn atk, thats hardly worth it already, so I don't believe there are any good reasons to keep this limitation around

    Edit: just found this out but original recipe only requires 1 of each Tao and now we need to get 5 of each Tao at a lower drop rate? I don't understand how making them rechargeable in more places is too much to ask when it's like 10x harder to make it here than it was in GMS

    I think it's neat and sticks with the original designer's idea of certain items from the dimension of Versal having a special tie to Masteria. Lore is important! :)

    If proper lore and original design is that important then lets make the recipe to the original 1 Tao instead of 5. After all Balanced Fury's were made with 1 of each Tao because a Balanced Fury is literally 1 of each tao stuck together for a total of 3 tao's put together, not 15. If we are talking lore and original design intent here then how about we fix all the inconsistencies, including this one?

    I would be completely fine with this change as the annoyance here isnt neccessarily that they are only rechargeable in nlc, but the fact they are WAY harder and far more expensive to obtain than the original AND they have this annoying feature which wasn't even in GMS for very long.

    Hello Nine! Balanced Furies imo should be definitely an challenge to obtain, but by itself its very unique and should be treated as a luxury item

    Lets look at it this way, It being a unique item for several NLs in the server, wouldn't it be cool.
    If example its nerfed hard to 1Tao for each. Where will there be the demand of crystal ilibis?

    Lets look at how the Official Servers did.
    Current Content, = Great, people spend days and months grinding their items.
    Release a new similar item that requires Minimal amount of farming and its better.

    How many players will you anger and disappoint with "lets make the recipe to the original 1 Tao instead of 5. After all Balanced Fury's were made with 1 of each"
    What would happen to players who invested billions of mesos to obtain 8~12 sets or even more of them?

    inb4 release lampion, make it tradable and completely absolute Red Cravens

    As explained in the update notes we chose to use the MSEA crafting requirements, including the higher meso cost, because we didn't want the stars being too easy to obtain and/or becoming worthless. Indeed a requirement of 3 Taos makes more sense based on the look of the star itself, however changing the crafting recipe to requiring just 3 would come at a cost of us reducing the Tao droprate by 80%... And I feel that players would prefer to see Taos more often than not, as it would simply feel disheartening doing multiple CWKPQ's and not seeing a single Tao.

    I feel you are grasping at straws with your reasoning for wanting this changed. There doesn't seem to be much support for the change, and every staff member I have asked regarding this agrees that they should be rechargeable in NLC only.

    Whether others agree for the change or not, I don't believe I'm "grasping at straws". In the first place the # of players currently using Bfuries are very very small, so it's sensible to see why support for this change would be small as well. If this change can't come about then so be it, however I believe the reasonings that I put forth are all very strong points rebutting every counter point made here. I even brought up a simple work around of having nlc scrolls being usable from victoria island which I believe is a very good compromise.

    And yes I understand why it shouldn't be 3 Tao's, that was mostly a point I brought up because of the vague and inconsistent argument of original design and lore, which I believe I have pointed out why this is not a good counter point. In other words, I agree that it should not be 1 tao each, but if Bfury's cant be rechargeable outside of NLC because of "Lore" or "Orignal Design" then the 1 Tao argument shuts it down which is why I brough it up.

    Look don't get me wrong, I'm not looking to be salty over the whole thing or anything. I made this thread because I believed the reasons for making them at least a little easier to recharge were strong and that it would have been a sensible change considering they are 6x the price of cilbis for 1 atk. If the change can't be made ill live with it.

    At the very least I hope this will be something to consider as more areas are released down the line and coming back to nlc becomes more and more of a disruption

    Yes you are right. As I mentioned in my reply to Matt above, I mostly made this point just to shut down the argument of "Lore" and "original design" because if Bfury's cannot be recharged outside of nlc because of "lore" or "original intent" then by that logic Bfury's should also be made with 1 of each Tao instead of 5.

    I actually agree that it should be not be 1 tao each and I would also be on the receiving end if this change was made.

    NL are one of the strongest classes with very few cons- they don't have complicated DPS mechanics (like sairs), their best stars are rechargable (Unlike BM), they can evade 1/1 attacks along with a good chunk of most other attacks (PG doesn't even deflect or reduce this damage but they can avoid it outright with shadow shifter), their consumable attack buffs last longer.

    Their only cons are they cost a lot (both to gear and to HP wash- which the latter is moot because BM and Sair are also very expensive to wash) and they aren't good grinders.

    I get it's a pain to go back to NLC to recharge stars but there has to be a cap somewhere. If you want one of the best classes in the game, you have to make some sacrifices. If it's that much of an inconvenience you can make a mid 30's sin and park it in NLC and recharge that way-

    fwiw, lore and... I don't even know what to call this, balance, are not the same thing. The lore is the bfuries have a special tie to NLC, the amount of taos isn't lore- removing the tao requirement would be breaking lore.

    Are you suggesting that making Bfury's rechargeable is some kind of notable buff for NL's? There's a difference between quality of life improvements and something you can actually call a buff. Making stars rechargeable in a few different places doesn't improve dps or any stats in the slightest and it doesn't help you kill mobs faster, gain more exp, or give you more mobility over the map.

    Also yes stars are rechargeable, but do you know how much a single Bfury costs? If i can buy un-rechargeable Bfuries or even Cilbis for 40k per 2000 stars like Red/Blue arrows then by all means yes please ill glady go to showa to recharge them instead of dropping 6b on rechargeable stars.

    NL's already do make sacrifices: A shit ton of mesos. With the money to perfect 1 NL, I can perfect 1 Bowman and a Hero. Does this not count?

    Nowhere in the lore does it specify as far as I know that Bfury's are supposed to be only rechargeable at NLC. I read all the dialouge in every Crimsonwood quest as well as the dialouge when creating Bfury's as well as every itcg item. The current item description stating that it can only be recharged at NLC is something I cannot find Anywhere. Google Balanced Fury and look at the item description, I bet you won't find that it says that it "can only be recharged at NLC" like it does here since I assume Matt added this in the description. Also For the record Crystal Ilbis were also discovered at Crimsonwood keep according to the lore, so might as well make cilbis only rechargeable at NLC too if we want to stick to lore.

    Lastly, 1 tao of each is obviously the intent as Bfury's are 3 tao's stuck together and that was the original recipe. I never questioned lore as if it was the same thing as balance. Just because the recipe is a part of balance, it doesn't mean that it's not a part of lore/original intent.

    pretty sure after the intial washing ~mesos nl uses way less money than hero or bowman. u know. with the ridiculously high avoid and shadow shifter to save pots and the ridiculously overpowered alchemist to turn 1 apple into 15min n a 21min zak run into a 14 stopper thing. multiply that by every boss run u ever go on and u will realise that nl really saves a lot on these things compared to hero n bowman from 135-200 when bossing

    also, comparing arrows to bfuries, its much more annoying to have to buy 20 stacks of arrows than recharging stars. recharge just need to hold Y and click 1 button, arrow need to input in the number also. NL has fj too while bowman got jackshit so why u complaining bro. on a side note, theres also no world tour in el nath. the only times u would need to recharge are after boss fight or before boss fight. and guess what? if its krex, just go back to kerning n go nlc. if its leafre for ht, use the magic seed thing n go back to vic. if its zak, then too bad go recharge first b4 u go or something.

    in a way, yes it is a buff. by making it rechargeable everywhere, there is no downside of using it. so ure basically letting ppl use this highest att star with without having to deal with anything. basically, the trouble that it gives making it only rechargeable in nlc is the downside of bfuries. there is a need to balance things out. its like how zerking works. u gotta sacrifice being at 50% n below to deal more damage. in this case, its rly not that big a deal for the MOST MOBILE CLASS IN THE GAME to fj their way to nlc to recharge them.

    NL DONT NEED MORE BUFF.

    Also you can just use cilbis if it annoys you that much, i mean afterall its only 1 ATK right :p
