What is Fashion Week?

Fashion Week generally refers to annual fashion shows hosted by various cities throughout the globe for designers to showcase their newest and hottest works. This is the opportunity for established and emerging designers alike to advertise general consumer merchandise as well as to feature new, visionary works. The most renowned fashion shows are held in the four fashion capitals of the world known as the "Big Four"--which include London, Paris, Milan, and New York.

This year in the Maple World, the Big Four will consist of Orbis, Leafre, Mu Lung, and New Leaf City! Throughout the duration of 8th Anniversary, each of the Big Four regions in the Maple World will host a Fashion Week at various times. With each Fashion Week, you will be asked to turn out your most fashion-forward looks that fit both the aesthetic of each region as well as the theme of this year. Winners of each event will be handsomely rewarded, and at the end of MapleRoyals Fashion Week one player will sweep away an alluring grand prize!

What is Haute Couture?

The phrase "haute couture" is French for "high sewing," referring to high-end fashion created through custom, handmade tailoring. Given that each piece is meticulously crafted to complement the shape and features of a specific model, this style truly embodies the concept of fashion as wearable art. Often perceived as the hallmark style of high fashion, haute couture features luxury fabrics, ornate designs, and exceptional sewing technique--an elevated form of traditional Western styles. In great French tradition, this fashion style is meant to represent the notions of subtle elegance as well as grand opulence. How will you embody these aesthetic concepts through the pixelated landscape of the Maple World?
