I believe we need some kind of trust system in MapleRoyals. With the sudden outburst of scammers it makes replaying my childhood so much more realistic! However I don't think that was intended nor did I plan on reliving this hell. Sure, blacklisting or reporting a player 3 times will result in them getting banned but is that giving people 2 free scams before they get banned? Hog wash. One and done should be the way in my opinion but let's not talk politics. Back to the trust system - I think discord would be a great place. If I'm simply able to search somebodys ign in the MapleRoyals discord something like disconnected internet, dead laptop, or family emergency could all be explained in a matter of seconds. If I'm able to search somebody's ign on the MapleRoyals discord and see a little * next to their name or something that should be like good feedback on ebay, cool trusted player. If I'm unable to search for somebody's ign on the discord I'll avoid business. The reason behind it is discord gives another place where you can contact the person you are transacting with while the majority of players do not frequent the forums contact offline becomes close to impossible, simple tasks like trying to find the leech seller who logged can be misinterpreted as accusing them of scamming.

    rip 2 my mesos :/

This would require the person to list all their names in discord (which they could just not do).

Also- how would you prove they deserved to be listed that way more than is currently done on the blacklist? # of times doesn't seem to matter as you're looking for 1 and done, and the blacklist could do that.

I still don’t know everyone’s igns in the discord lol it’s up to them to add their igns, and people can choose not to. Unfortunately the only way to deal with them is to take the right screenshots: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/how-to-report-a-scammer-101.146432/ and upload them to the blacklist. Reports CAN be made, to get them banned— but you need the correct screenshots in order to get them banned.

You’ll need: the agreement on mesos either pm or smega ss, the trade window showing you giving them the mesos, and them gone.

Severtime stamps would help too since you’re away all day, so a servertime stamp in the beginning right after you trade the mesos, and one when you come home once they bailed can show the person leeching for 5-10min or not at all after you’ve given them the mesos.

There’s really not much that can be done without documenting every trade sadly. It was never like this, but I find every year more and more scammers go for it because they’re not being punished. (Nobodys providing the correct screenshots for them to get banned)

Not to mention those who borrow gears etc and then get the lender ban. Honestly I've lent about 2b in gear to one person that I'll better get back because they refuse to log back on and give it back. I've just taken that as a 2b lesson to never loan anything to anybody, however as far as leeching goes I think it's a lack of modernization in an old game. Surely some implementation of some sort of logging system is applicable but making and applying is an other animal in itself.

Tl;dr it's a shame we can't just trust people anymore but people are shitty

People are starting to offer collateral. I've had people want to test out some chairs so I made sure they gave me ws/cs in return (1b+ chairs require 2-3 ws/cs depending on the value) might be worth looking into to avoid incidents like this :(

Leech has risks if you choose to buy it.
Try your best to follow a general guideline to not buy from certain leechers.

    eg:
    Guildless
    Negative Fame
    Not a mage character

There's no sudden outburst of scammers. They were here since the alpha and they'll stay till the omega. Leech service relies on mutual trust between strangers. It's solely your responsibility to stay vigilant when making a risky transaction. Always take a screenshot of a written out statement and get their agreement before you make the payment. Refer to this template as an example.

"I, IGN: sparky95, am paying 150m for 1 hour of leech service, starting from 3:46 PM server time, on the 1st Jan 2020, at Petris, to seller IGN: ~~~.

Do you, IGN:~~~, agree to provide the leech service for the said price and refund the meso if you don't fulfill the service AND accept the consequence of scam (objectionable behavior) ?"

If the seller makes a run even after agreeing on the above statement, and you took enough evidence of their run, you can report the seller under [objectionable behavior] and ask staff for the agreed refund of paid meso from the seller's character to yours. I'm not entirely sure if staff would transfer mesos this way but if the evidence clearly shows the evil intention, they should in my opinion. It'll at very least get the scammer banned.

I'm aware a lot of people don't bother because they are too lazy to type this out every time.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Then they just gotta take the risk of scam every time.
