That's not proof, that's an anecdote. Also, I never claimed that scrolling any item in any way is profitable, but with the right scrolls, some items can be scrolled with a profit on average. Let's stay on topic though.
I guess I will run some number with you. Since you mentioned work gloves I will use work glove as an example. Attack 10 work glove is around 40 Work glove is 1~3m clean, 60% are around 1~2m each. Chance of landing 5 60% in a row is a little under 8%, so that means if you scroll 100 work gloves with 500 60% you will get 8 attack 10 gloves. That's 600m in, and 320m out. Sure you will have a bunch of art 6~8 gloves that worth a little, but the time you spend selling those hard to sell low attack gloves and space it takes up in your FM shop inventory is simply not worth it or break even at the end best case. On the other end of the spectrum. Attack 20 SCG even if you 30% the first slot, and 10%+ws the remaining 4 slots. StatlstStatis that's 2b + 450m * 40 to finish. That's around 20b and attack 20 glove are not 20b. Unless you're a very lucky person consistently and you have the luck to beat the odds on scrolling, you will lose to the RNG statistically speaking.
I agree with you this is a better way to do it but if and only if with a server wipe. Other wise people will cry and moan about people who joined the server earlier has clear advantage over people who joined later since they benefited from the higher drop rate. The water is already too high around the bridge to do that right now.

This is getting a bit offtopic, but: Spoiler This is not a very wise way of scrolling. It implies that you put 5 scrolls on each work glove regardless of any outcomes. So even if the first two scrolls fail, you'd still use another 3 scrolls. In reality you would stop scrolling if a scroll fails. This is harder to calculate, but quite easy to simulate. After running the numbers it turns out for every 3.3m you put in, you get about 4.3m. So about 1m profit. If you want the code I used to simulate this you can PM me. You originally implied that it's fine that the slot machine is unprofitable because scrolls are too. This is not true in many cases, but even in cases where you get unlucky and it takes many tries to make that perfect item (or when scrolling untradeable items) you at least gained something useful for your character. In the case of the slot machine, if you get unlucky and it takes many tries to win the checkpot, you will have less money than you started with, and you get nothing else. It's a shallow game-mechanic and there's nothing interesting about it. if you want to read it, ill take ss of small portion one of them. im lazy to fix it in here, and copy paste lua into "insert" > Code > general / PHP / HTML aren't gonna look pretty as well.. small part of one of 3 scripts, a friend of mine wrote the majority of this system... so i can't really take credit for the entire thing.. but again, its worked well, and this dice gamble minigame reduce the server overall gold by more then i we could hope for! even tho it was designed to have 50% chance to win/lose, people still lost more then they won.. (they kept going until they lost and never learned lol)..

Legit sounds like fun. RIP I burned up 1b for the Chair Gach event. But no regrets. I guess it's because I believe in TimK and offer him praise with all luck-based things in this game, as I will with this as well if we get it.
Maybe a warning message like the "you've played maple for X hrs, we suggest you take a break" kinda stuff? Can't force people to take a break from their maple addiction, can't force people to stop chaos away all their money with their gamble addiction, so can't force people to not spin the slot machine
